Endurance physical activity, diet and fibrinolysis
Atherosclerosis, 1994The impact of long-term, heavy exercise on recently established cardiovascular/thromboembolic risk factors of the fibrinolytic system, tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1) in relation to food composition was studied.

ABSTRACTIncreasing moderate‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA) through exercise requires reallocating time from other physical behaviour(s). We aimed to determine the reallocations induced by endurance exercise in physically active individuals. We also searched for behavioural compensatory responses, and explored the effect of exercise on daily energy ...

Investigation on physical origins of endurance failures in PRAM
2012 IEEE International Reliability Physics Symposium (IRPS), 2012Endurance failures are classified into three groups, all of which originate from the atomic transport of GST due to electromigration in molten phase. Based on the analysis, cell structure insusceptible to the atomic transport and for better cycling performance was proposed.

[Increasing physical endurance with salmeterol].
Pneumologie (Stuttgart, Germany), 199410 patients with mild to moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease were assessed by lung function tests at rest and spiroergometry before and 1 resp. 7 hours after inhalation of 50 micrograms salmeterol. The parameters changed as follows: Forced exspiratory volume in 1 second: +16% +/- 6% after 1 resp. +13% +/- 5% after 7 hours; airway resistance:

[Nutrition in long physical endurance events].
Praxis, 2001In recent years, there was a trend towards longlasting endurance events. The longer the competitions last, the more important nutrition and fluid replacement will be before, during, and after a race, because an inadequate supply reduces performance.

[Fasting and physical endurance capacity].
Schweizerische Zeitschrift fur Sportmedizin, 1993Fasting, or zero calorie diets are used not only by overweight people as a means of losing weight, but by athletes too. Their use is then explained on philosophical grounds, with the aim of even enhancing sports performance. The purpose of this investigation consisted of quantifying the effects of a 10-day fast on maximum performance capacity and ...
