Effects of Roasting Conditions on Physicochemical Properties of the Watermelon Seed

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2021
Roasted watermelon seeds are consumed as snack foods. In this research, the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used in order to examine the effect of roasting on some physicochemical properties of watermelon seeds. The Central Composite Design (CCD) was applied to investigate the effects of two independent variables, i.e.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Hydrophobicity of chalcopyrite with dithiophosphate and dithiophosphinate in electrochemically controlled condition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The degree of hydrophobicity of chalcopyrite was determined by contact angle measurements on polished chalcopyrite surface in electrochemically controlled conditions. Results have shown that the increase in solution pH adversely affect hydrophobicity due

DigiChrom: A Domain Ontology for Semantic Representation of Trivalent Chromium Platings and Its Large Language Model‐Based Alignment With Multiple Mid‐Level Ontologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings
