Modified physiologically equivalent temperature—basics and applications for western European climate
Theoretical and Applied Climatology, 2017A new thermal index, the modified physiologically equivalent temperature (mPET) has been developed for universal application in different climate zones. The mPET has been improved against the weaknesses of the original physiologically equivalent temperature (PET) by enhancing evaluation of the humidity and clothing variability.

Mapping the Physiologically Equivalent Temperature in urban areas using artificial neural network
Landscape and Urban Planning, 2016Abstract The gap between point measurements made during a measurement campaign and the required discrete data of human thermal comfort in the form of maps could be overcome by statistical or numerical models. City planners usually demand thermal maps with a resolution below 50 m.

Urban Climate, 2019
Abstract Thermal sensation of visitors is very important factor for open urban spaces for physiological, psychological and behavioral conditions of the visitors. Therefore in this article thermal sensation of the visitors in open urban spaces is investigated. For such a purpose physical data are used and questionnaire study as well.

Using the measure of Physiologically Equivalent Temperature (PET) it is analysed how changes in the thermal environment can affect human well-being. Historical data used in this study have been assembled for the normal climate period 1961–1990 (CNTRL).

This research evaluates the spatial distribution of thermal comfort in residential gardens using geostatistics; a residential garden in Taichung City was studied. The monitoring sites were systematically equipped to record the physical environment factors used to monitor and calculate the Physiologically Equivalent Temperature (PET), which was used to ...

Abstract When considering cities such as Lisbon, which due to their Koppen Geiger classification of ‘Csa’, witness hot and dry summers, the translation of local bottom-up knowhow upon climatic guidelines has been a topic of considerable dissemination over recent years.

Human health faces a significant threat from climate change, especially in regions like the Mediterranean, and the Middle East and North Africa, which have experienced extreme temperatures in recent decades. Extreme heatwaves are becoming common in these areas, impacting enclosed populations more severely.
