Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Physiological quality of osmoprimed eggplant seeds
Ciência e Agrotecnologia, 2012 Eggplant seeds germination can be slow and uneven, justifying the use of pre-germinative treatments to improve the performance of seed lots. One option of treatment is the controlled hydration of seeds by priming. In this way, this study aimed to evaluate the performance of eggplant seeds cv. Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.

Physiological Information for Pavement Health Monitoring based on Surface Ride Quality [PDF]
, 2011 アンケートによる舗装路面の乗り心地評価は、道路利用者の乗車感覚を直接測定できる反面、自己申告であることによる客観性の低さが、評価結果を定量化する上での課題となっている。本研究では、ドライビングシミュレータを用いた体感評価試験を実施し、代表的な生体信号である心拍変動の連続ウェーブレット変換により、平坦性に起因するメンタルストレスの検出を試みた。その結果、心拍変動の高周波成分（0.15-0.4Hz）に着目することで、従来では困難であった、平坦性に起因する潜在的メンタルストレスの把握が可能となることがわかった。
