Life History of Kampimodromus aberrans as a predator of Phytoptus avellanae (Acari: Phytoseiidae, Phytoptidae)

Experimental and Applied Acarology, 2006
The biology of Kampimodromus aberrans (Oudemans), a predator of the big bud mite, Phytoptus avellanae Nalepa, was studied under laboratory conditions. All experiments were conducted on hazelnut leaf discs in an incubator at 25 +/- 1 degrees C, with 16:8 h L:D, at an average daily relative air humidity of 76%.

Mite (Arthropoda: Acari) Associates of palms (Arecaceae) in Brazil: VI. New genera and new species of Eriophyidae and Phytoptidae (Prostigmata: Eriophyoidea)

International Journal of Acarology, 2002
Abstract Three new genera and ten new species of Eriophyoidea associated with palm trees (Arecaceae) are illustrated and described from Brazil. Two new genera and seven new species are in the family Eriophyidae - Aceria gymnoscuta n. sp. from Syagrus flexuosa and Syagrus cocoides; Aceria biornata n. sp. from Acrocomia aculeata; Aceria translinea n. sp.

Some biological and morphological differences between gall and vagrant forms ofPhytoptus avellanaeNal. (Acari: Phytoptidae)

International Journal of Acarology, 2000
Abstract The big bud mite (Phytoptus avellanae Nal.), one of the most important pests of hazelnut (Corylus spp., Corylaceae), has two forms - a gall form and a vagrant form. The gall form lives inside big buds. It has a simple life cycle and a single nymphal type. The vagrant form lives on vegetative and generative organs and inside the big buds.

Comparative confocal microscopy of internal genitalia of phytoptine mites (Eriophyoidea, Phytoptidae): new generic diagnoses reflecting host-plant associations

Experimental and Applied Acarology, 2013
Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) methods are still rarely used by acarologists although they are very appropriate for studying minute arthropod pests, especially eriophyoid mites. In this paper, the female reproductive system of phytoptines, including the bud mite Phytoptus avellanae, the well-known pest of hazelnut, was studied using CLSM and

Observations on intraplant distribution and life history of eriophyoid mites (Acari: Eriophyidae, Phytoptidae) inhabiting evergreen cypress,Cupressus sempervirensL.

International Journal of Acarology, 2000
Abstract Two species of eriophyoids, bud mite Trisetacus juniperinus (Nalepa) and vagrant mite Epitrimerus cupressi (Keifer) (new record), were commonly found on evergreen cypress (Cupressus sem-pervirens L.) in Italy. The distribution and biology of these mites were studied in a seed orchard on two groups of half-sib plants with common mother.

CLSM anatomy of internal genitalia of Mackiella reclinata n. sp. and systematic remarks on eriophyoid mites from the tribe Mackiellini Keifer, 1946 (Eriophyoidea: Phytoptidae)

Zootaxa, 2014
A new mackielline mite, Mackiella reclinata n. sp., from a South African indigenous palm-tree, Phoenix reclinata, is described in detail using different microscopy techniques. A CSLM study of M. reclinata n. sp. internal genitalia shows that mites of this genus possess teardrop shaped spermathecae, sausage-like spermathecal tubes directed anteriad and ...

A new phytoptid mite from iconic Gondwanan plant: description of Solenocristus nothofagalis n. sp. (Eriophyoidea, Phytoptidae) from Argentina supplemented with sequences of nuclear ribosomal genes of Nothofagus pumilio (Nothofagaceae)

Systematic and Applied Acarology, 2020
Plants of the genus Nothofagus (Fagales, Nothofagaceae) has ancient South American-Australasian disjunctive distribution and represent a perspective model for biogeographical studies in Eriophyoidea. Among six currently known eriophyoid genera reported from Nothofagus (Acalitus, Aceria, Austracus, Cymoptus, Rectalox, and Nothacus) only genus Cymoptus ...

Description of a new relict eriophyoid mite, Loboquintus subsquamatus n. gen. & n. sp. (Eriophyoidea, Phytoptidae, Pentasetacini) based on confocal microscopy, SEM, COI barcoding and novel CLSM anatomy of internal genitalia

Experimental and Applied Acarology, 2013
A new pentasetacine mite Loboquintus subsquamatus n. gen. & n. sp. was found living under scale-like leaves of 2-3 years old twigs of Cupressus sempervirens in Montenegro. This mite species possesses a number of morphological features (uncommon teardrop-shaped body, traits of prosoma, atypical primitive anatomy of the genital apparatus and ...
