Typification and current status of the Turkish taxa described by Hanna Czeczott

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 5, Page 1248-1261, October 2025.
Abstract Hanna Czeczott's 1925 expeditions to northern Turkey resulted in the description of 22 new taxa. Our study revisits them using Czeczott's original publications and herbarium collections. Of the 22 taxa described, we located all or parts of the original material for 21, designate 13 lectotypes (including one second‐step) and confirm 7 holotypes,

New and Overlooked Syntaxa of European Vegetation and Their Accumulation Over Time

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 28, Issue 4, October/December 2025.
Since the 2016 publication of EuroVegChecklist, many new high‐rank syntaxa have been described from Europe. We reviewed syntaxa described in 2017–2022 and syntaxa described earlier but not included in EuroVegChecklist. We found 364 such alliances, orders, and classes.

Fire effects on the composition of soil seed bank and soil properties in Iran

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 8, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract Fire is a frequent phenomenon in rangelands and because of its complicated and different effects on natural ecosystems, it has great importance. Awareness of such fire effects on vegetation cover in point of rangeland management after fire is important and helps better understanding and sustainable management of rangelands.

Testing the feasibility of citizen science to record impacts of invasive alien plants

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 6, Issue 3, July–September 2025.
This pilot study evaluated the suitability of a citizen science approach to analyse the impacts of invasive alien plants on native vegetation and makes recommendations for the wider application of the method. Abstract Evidence of impacts of invasive alien species is necessary to inform risk assessments and management decisions but is lacking for many ...

Phytosociological characteristics of seven poorly known associations of serpentine rocky grassland vegetation of the order Halacsyetalia sendtneri in Serbia [PDF]

open access: yesBotanica Serbica, 2017
Although it is well known that dry open rocky grassland vegetation on shallow serpentine (ultramafic) soils represents one of the most interesting, highly endemic, and often studied vegetation types, the authors of several detailed studies of Balkan ...

Standardised Drone Procedures for Phytosociological Data Collection

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 28, Issue 2, April/June 2025.
ABSTRACT Aims Phytosociological maps are crucial for biodiversity conservation. Supervised mapping with machine learning demands high‐quality reference data that field surveys alone cannot provide. This study evaluates drone‐based procedures for phytosociological data collection, comparing them with field surveys. The research questions are as follows:
