Physico-Chemical and Ecotoxicological Evaluation of Marine Sediments Contamination: A Case Study of Rovinj Coastal Area, NE Adriatic Sea, Croatia

open access: yesToxics, 2022
Comprehensive spatial and temporal data on sediment quality in the Adriatic Sea are lacking. Therefore, prior to planned anthropogenic interventions in the local marine environment, such as deepening of the Rovinj harbour, the results of physicochemical ...

A Solution‐Based Deposition Method Enabling Pigment Blue Edible Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel solution‐based method is presented to produce Copper Phthalocyanine fibrous films displaying effective ion permeability and enhanced transconductance in electrolyte‐gated transistors architectures. Using these films, the first instance of a fully edible electrolyte‐gated transistor with volumetric capacitance, targeting in‐body applications, is

Digestate from small‐scale biogas plants in central Vietnam produced under mesophilic conditions: friend or foe for local farmers?

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract This study evaluates the suitability of digestate from small mesophilic biogas plants in central Vietnam for agricultural application. Digestate samples were collected from 85 farms and analyzed for microbial contamination and elemental composition.

Environmental conditions and plant physiology modulate Cu phytotoxicity in field-contaminated soils

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2022
Foliar Cu concentration has been widely used as a biomarker of plant growth in phytotoxicity bioassays. This relation has helped find plant processes altered by Cu in dose-response experiments (a bivariate approach).

Lienhwalides: Unique Tropolone–Maleidride Hybrids from Hypoxylon lienhwacheense

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Lienhwalides are novel tropolone–maleidride hybrid molecules unique in nature. Absolute configuration is solved by semisynthetic approaches and X‐ray analysis. Interplay between both lwt and lwm biosynthetic gene clusters is responsible for the production of lienhwalides.

Testing of phytotoxicity of mining waste to determine the direction of future development

open access: yesAIMS Environmental Science, 2020
Energy industry and coal mining produce large amounts of mining waste. The material is accumulated on dumps and heaps which alter the landscape appearance. As the material is waste from mining, there are concerns from possible environmental contamination.

Assessment of Phytotoxicity in Untreated and Electrochemically Treated Leachates through the Analysis of Early Seed Growth and Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy Characterization

open access: yesHorticulturae
The treatment of stabilized leachates with high refractory organic matter content, which are over 10 years old, presents a challenge. This study explored the potential of electro-coagulation (EC) and electro-oxidation (EO) treatment systems to address ...
