Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The vertex PI index is a distance--based molecular structure descriptor, that recently found numerous chemical applications. In order to increase diversity of this topological index for bipartite graphs, we introduce weighted version defined as $PI_w (G) = \sum_{e = uv \in E} (deg (u) + deg (v)) (n_u (e) + n_v (e))$, where $deg (u)$ denotes the vertex ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Vertex PI index of V-phenylenic nanotubes and nanotori [PDF]
In series of papers, P.V. Khadikar introduced a new topological index and named it as Padmakar-Ivan (PI) Index. This index is found very useful in nano technology, particularly in making and characterizing carbon nanotubes and nanotori. In this paper the

Typed polyadic pi-calculus in bigraphs
Bigraphs have been introduced with the aim to provide a topographical meta-model for mobile, distributed agents that can manipulate their own communication links and nested locations. In this paper we examine a presentation of type systems on bigraphical

Doppler ultrasonography of the pectinis oculi artery in harpy eagles (Harpia harpyja) [PDF]
Twenty harpy eagles (Harpia harpyja) without systemic or ocular diseases were examined to measure blood velocity parameters of the pectinis oculi artery using Doppler ultrasonography.
