NRASQ61R Expression in Lymphatic Endothelial Cells Causes Enlarged Vessels, Hemorrhagic Chylous Effusions, and High Mortality in a Mouse Model of Kaposiform Lymphangiomatosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

A new method for computing the vertex PI index with applications to special classes of graphs

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics
The Padmakar-Ivan (PI) index of a graph G is given by [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is the number of equidistant vertices for the edge e.

Effects of gestational hypertension in the pulsatility index of the middle cerebral and umbilical artery, cerebro-placental ratio, and associated adverse perinatal outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Radiation Research and Applied Sciences, 2018
This paper reports the effects of gestational hypertension in the pulsatility index (PI) of umbilical artery (UA) and middle cerebral artery (MCA), cerebro-placental ratio (CPR), and associated adverse perinatal outcomes, after 20 to 40 weeks’ gestation ...

Pulmonary Dysfunction Is Associated With Sleep Study Abnormalities in Children With Sickle Cell Disease: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary dysfunction and sleep abnormalities are common in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. Whether spirometry abnormalities are associated with polysomnography (PSG) findings remains unclear.

On the PI index of some nanotubes

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2006
The PI index is a graph invariant defined as the summation of the sums of edges of neu and nev over all the edges of connected graph G, where neu is the number of edges of G lying closer to u than to v and nev is the number of edges of G lying closer to v than to u.

Defining Roles in Pediatric Palliative Care: Perspectives From Oncology and Palliative Care Teams

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Early integration of pediatric palliative care (PPC) is associated with improved symptom management, quality of life, and healthcare utilization for children with cancer. Despite this, variation persists in how PPC is understood, operationalized, and integrated within pediatric oncology programs. In particular, ambiguity surrounding

Prediction of hypotension during the alveolar recruitment maneuver in spine surgery: a prospective observational study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research, 2023
Background Atelectasis can occur in many clinical practices. One way to prevent this complication is through the alveolar recruitment maneuver (ARM). However, hemodynamic compromise can accompany ARM.

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Study of a Threshold Cherenkov Counter Based on Silica Aerogels with Low Refractive Indices

open access: yes, 1994
To identify $\pi^{\pm}$ and $K^{\pm}$ in the region of $1.0\sim 2.5$ GeV/c, a threshold Cherenkov counter equipped with silica aerogels has been investigated.
