Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Evaluation of Drought Tolerance in Safflower Genotypes Based on Drought Tolerance indices
Among the different environmental stresses, drought is the constraint that induces a highly negative effect on crop production. In order to identify drought tolerant genotypes, an experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with three ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

ON THE PI INDEX: PI-PARTITIONS AND CARTESIAN PRODUCT GRAPHS
PI index is an edge-additive topological index introduced as a counterpart to the vertexmultiplicative Szeged index. In this paper PI-partitions are introduced and used to simplify the computation of the PI-index on those graph that admit nontrivial PI ...

In this study, we base on historical flood/drought records to reconstruct (A) PIA and (B) PIB. We subtract PIB from PIA to give (C) the IRPV index. All of the above indices are in decadal units and spanned AD580–1979 (see Section 2.1).

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
