Triazolylidene Iron(II) Piano-Stool Complexes: Synthesis and Catalytic Hydrosilylation of Carbonyl Compounds

Organometallics, 2017
A new series of iron(II) piano stool complexes was synthesized that contain monodentate triazolylidene ligands with different aryl and alkyl substituents as well as an example of a C,N-chelating pyridine-substituted triazolylidene iron complex.

Tantalum-ligand bond lengths in d0 and d1 piano-stool complexes

Organometallics, 1988

Toward a Broadly Applicable Force Field for d6-Piano Stool Complexes

Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2013
Three-legged piano stool complexes are prototypical organometallic complexes relevant to a wide range of chemically relevant questions. Force field parametrization of transition-metal complexes is difficult and underdeveloped, and metal-specific force fields and software are required. Here we report our efforts to derive parameters for the conventional

Piano-stool inversion in arene complexes of Ru(ii): modelling the transition state

Journal of the Chemical Society, Dalton Transactions, 2002
In the solid-state, the [RuH(arene)(Binap)]CF3SO3, complexes, 1, arene = η6-benzene and 2, arene = η6-toluene, distort markedly from a classical three-legged piano-stool structure with the former having the P–Ru–P plane approximately perpendicular to the plane of the arene; this structure for 1 is what one would expect for a transition state leading ...

Further insights into ruthenium(II) piano-stool complexes with N-alkyl imidazoles

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 2018
© 2018 Elsevier B.V. Two piano-stool ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(η6-p-cymene)(N-MeIm)3]Cl2·2H2O (1) and [Ru(η6-p-cymene)(N-PrIm)Cl2] (2) respectively have been synthesized and characterized by elemental, spectral and structural analysis. Crystal structures of (1) and (2) have been verified by X-ray diffraction analysis.

Coordination of Piano‐Stool Complexes to a Hydrogen‐Bonded Rosette‐Type Assembly

European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2017
A new melamine (ME)–barbituric acid (BA) rosette‐type system has been prepared and characterized. The introduction of a pyridyl group on the barbituric acid moiety allows coordination of metal ions at the periphery of the ME3·BA3 rosette. Reactions of 1.5 equiv.

Piano stool complexes of N-heterocyclic carbene ligands bearing a galactose-derived substituent

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 2020
Abstract Piano stool complexes of NHC ligands bearing a chiral auxiliary derived from α-ᴅ-galactose, and linked through the C-6 carbon atom, have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. [(η6-C6H3Me3)RuCl2(κC-1,3-MeNC3H2NR)], R = 1,2:3,4-di-O-isopropylidene-6-deoxy-α-D-galactopyran-6-yl, (4) crystallized in

The synthesis and cyclic voltammetry of select ferrocene piano-stool isocyanide complexes

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 2011
Abstract Ferrocene piano-stool isocyanide complexes ([CpFeL 3 ] + , Cp = η 5 -C 5 H 5 , L = tert-butyl isocyanide ( 1 ), cyclohexyl isocyanide ( 2 ), and 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide ( 3 )) are formed by chemical oxidation of ferrocene in the presence of a stoichiometric amount of isocyanide ligand (1:3). The complexes are characterized by elemental
