Managing Treatment-Emergent Immune Effector Cell-Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis-Like Syndrome Following CAR-T Cell Therapy: A Case-Based Review of the use of Emapalumab. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR‐T) cell therapies have revolutionized the treatment of hematological malignancies, achieving high response rates in patients with relapsed or refractory disease. Despite these benefits, CAR‐T cell therapies are associated with unique toxicities, including cytokine release syndrome (CRS), immune effector cell ...

First-Tier Versus Last-Tier Trio Whole-Genome Sequencing for the Diagnosis of Pediatric-Onset Rare Diseases. [PDF]
This study shows increased diagnostic rates and clinical utility of trio‐Whole‐Genome Sequencing (WGS) as a first‐tier test for both critical and non‐critical patients with suspected genetic pediatric‐onset conditions. It also demonstrates the feasibility of implementing a genome‐first diagnostic approach into routine clinical practice in a public ...

Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 Receptor Agonists and Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter 2 Inhibitors Improve Renal Resistive Index in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes: A 26-Week Prospective Observational Real-Life Study. [PDF]
Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is one of the most life‐threatening complications of diabetes and a leading cause of chronic kidney disease. Glucagon‐like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP1‐RAs) or sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2is) appear to improve renal outcome in patients with Type 2 diabetes (T2D).

Expanding the genetic and clinical spectrum of SLC25A42-associated disorders and testing of pantothenic acid to improve CoA level in vitro. [PDF]
Abstract SLC25A42 encodes the mitochondrial coenzyme A (CoA) transporter localized at the inner mitochondrial membrane. SLC25A42 deficiency leads to a congenital disease with a heterogeneous clinical presentation, including myopathy, developmental delay, lactic acidosis, and encephalopathy. Twenty‐one patients have been described so far. In the current

Short (2-Hour) Non-Oxygenated End-Ischemic Hypothermic Perfusion Versus Cold Storage in the Setting of Renal Transplantation. [PDF]
EI‐HMP enhances urine output and reduces ICU stay in kidney transplant patients, particularly in ECD grafts, but does not significantly impact long‐term survival or dialysis avoidance. These short‐term benefits suggest EI‐HMP may improve early recovery, although its long‐term efficacy requires further investigation through randomized controlled trials.

The role of hypothermic machine perfusion in selecting renal grafts with advanced histological score
Few studies explored the role of Hypothermic Machine Perfusion (HMP) in the sub‐group of non‐standard renal grafts with a biopsy‐proven advanced histological impairment used for a single kidney transplantation. Twenty‐three perfused grafts with Karpinski Score >3 evaluated between November 2017 and December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed and ...
