Evolution of Two Receptors detecting the Same Pheromone Compound in Crop Pest Moths of the Genus Spodoptera

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2015
In moths, mate finding strongly rely on the detection of sex pheromones by pheromone receptors. Any modification in the functional properties of these receptors can have a drastic impact on reproduction.

A likelihood method to cross-calibrate air-shower detectors

open access: yes, 2015
We present a detailed statistical treatment of the energy calibration of hybrid air-shower detectors, which combine a surface detector array and a fluorescence detector, to obtain an unbiased estimate of the calibration curve.

Impact of PVDF Homo and Copolymer on Thiophosphate Solid Electrolyte Characteristics and Comprehensive Bulk‐To‐Surface Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study examines how a PVDF‐like binder affects the argyrodite Li6PS5Cl electrolyte properties. Using an approach that combines bulk and surface characterization with electrochemistry, we found a chemical interaction between Li6PS5Cl and PVDF, resulting in partial chlorine substitution by fluorine and slightly reduced ionic conductivity.

Pierres & inscriptions

open access: yes, 2020

Spin‐On SiOx‐Assisted Inkjet Printing for Interdigitated n+ and p+ Poly‐Si/SiOx Contacts in Silicon Solar Cells With Suppressed Unintended Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents an innovative spin‐on SiOx‐assisted inkjet‐printed approach to form localized n+ and p+ poly‐Si/SiOx passivating contacts for high‐efficiency silicon solar cells within a single‐annealing step. The developed process results in a well‐defined interdigitated doping pattern, with unintended doping and cross‐doping concentrations ...

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates

Bilateral Pretibial Varices with Intraosseous Venous Drainage Anomaly: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of the Belgian Society of Radiology, 2015
We report the case of a 35-year-old male patient who complained of right anteromedial leg pain, after an intensive sport exercise. At physical examination, internal pretibial soft tissue swelling containing prominent painful varices was found.

Asymptotic expansions of Laplace integrals for quantum state tomography

open access: yes, 2016
Bayesian estimation of a mixed quantum state can be approximated via maximum likelihood (MaxLike) estimation when the likelihood function is sharp around its maximum.

Endoplasmic Reticulum Geometry Dictates Neuronal Bursting via Calcium Store Refill Rates and Exposes Selective Neuronal Vulnerability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ER's continuous tubular network is maintained by ER‐shaping proteins whose mutation or dysregulation contributes to neurodegenerative diseases. Here, we show that ER morphology sets the speed of Ca2+ store replenishment between firing events. Disrupting ER continuity slows intra‐ER Ca2+ redistribution from extracellular refill (SOCE) sites, driving

Pierre à Pierre (III)

open access: yesCalenda, 2021
