Thickness-Optimization of Piezoceramic Transducers for Energy Transfer
Volume 1C: 16th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, 1997Abstract For the ultrasonic travelling wave motor, the energy-based definition of the electromechanical coupling factor (EMCF) is utilized to adapt the thickness of the piezoceramic layer, which is bonded to the stator of the motor, for maximal energy transfer.

Cylindrical piezoceramic transducer for a remote optoelectronic system
SPIE Proceedings, 1998Institute of Optoelectromcs, R-76900, P0 Box MG 22, Bucharest, RomaniaABSTRACTThis paper presents an experimental study on the behaviour of cylindrical piezoceramic transducers exposed todynamic mechanical shocks. The piezocerainic materials under study are solid solutions ofPb(ZrTi1)O and present directpiezoelectric effect. In the laboratory were made

Use of piezoceramic transducers for smart structural testing
SPIE Proceedings, 2000This paper presents the use of piezoceramic transducers, PZT actuators and PVDF sensors, for experimental modal testing of a simply supported plate. A series of rectangular shape of PVDF films are evenly distributed over the plate and act as the sensing devices instead of traditional acceleration sensors. The rectangular PZT patches that are adhered to

A Prestress Measurement Circuit for Piezoceramic Stack Transducers
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2011Recently, new multifunctional fasteners called `smart fasteners' have been proposed for structural health monitoring applications. These devices can be fabricated by modifying the design of ordinary fasteners such that they have a piezoceramic stack transducer embedded in their body.

Piezoceramic-Polymer Composites for Underwater Transducer Applications,
1996Abstract : A piezocomposite structure was prepared in a 1-1-3 configuration by casting a compressible epoxy between lead zirconate titanate (PZT) rods and a stiff polymer preform matrix. A corrugated polymer perform was used to provide structural stability under high hydrostatic pressures.

Evaluating piezocrystal and piezoceramic transducer bandwidth and effectiveness
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2011Conventional piezoceramic transducers offer moderate bandwidth and performance to serve the majority of underwater acoustic applications. The manufacturability of piezoceramic elements in a variety of shapes (bars, cylinders, and hemispheres) makes them a cost-effective solution in may transducer designs.

[Study of piezoceramic transducers].
Meditsinskaia tekhnika, 1980Longitudinal plezoceramic transducers were investigated by means of a measuring bridge circuit. They appeared to be well superior over packet piezoceramic transducers and serve as components in ultrasonic tools in Y3X-201 apparatus for ultrasonical surgery in ophthalmology.

Efficiency of excitation of piezoceramic transducers at antiresonance frequency
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2002The efficiency of piezoceramic transducers excited at both the resonance and antiresonance frequency was investigated. Losses in piezoceramics are phenomenologically considered to have three coupled mechanisms: dielectric, mechanical, and piezoelectric losses.

Piezoceramic Ultrasonic Transducer with Frequency Controlled Radiation Pattern
2007 IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Technology Conference IMTC 2007, 2007A theoretical approach shows, that controllable aperture angles of the radiation pattern of an ultrasonic transducer can be realized by arranging interleaved piezoceramic hollow cylinders with different resonance frequencies to an annular array, where all array elements can be driven in parallel.

Spatial Energy–Force Structure of Piezoceramic Transducers
2011Those who have developed piezoelectric transducers or read the first two chapters of this book may have two stereotypes: 1. Any piezoelement is an electromechanical oscillatory system, and can be presented and described as a piezoelectric resonator or a piezoelectric transformer. 2.
