Abstract Piezodorus guildinii (Westwood, 1837) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) is an important arthropod pest of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) throughout American continents. However, the historical events associated with its dispersion are poorly understood.

Pheromone Sharing: Blends Based on the Same Compounds for Euschistus heros and Piezodorus guildinii
Journal of Chemical Ecology, 1999Pheromone compounds shared between two species of pentatomids from the soybean stink bug complex are reported. Two male-specific compounds (R t 27.47 and 29.62 min) were detected in the airborne extract of Piezodorus guildinii by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry analysis.

Assessing antixenosis of soybean entries against Piezodorus guildinii (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)
Arthropod-Plant Interactions, 2014Piezodorus guildinii (Westwood) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) is a major soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) pest and reduces grain quality and yield worldwide. In the context of integrated pest management strategies, plant resistance stands out as an extremely valuable tool for the management of pest populations.

Legume Host Impact on Performance of Adult Piezodorus guildinii (Westwood) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)
Environmental Entomology, 1985Laboratory studies of adult Piezodorus guildinii feeding on the seeds or pods of five legumes demonstrated that this polyphagous stink bug exhibits differences in reproductive parameters, survival, longevity and body weight depending on food source. Results of these laboratory studies, coupled with previous field observations, suggest that Indigofera ...

Chitosan double‐stranded
AbstractBACKGROUNDPiezodorus guildinii (Westwood, Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) causes economic losses in soybean crops by diminishing productivity, impacting grain size, oil content, and germination power. RNA interference (RNAi), a conserved gene regulation process initiated by double‐stranded RNA (dsRNA), may be used as a safe technique in integrated ...

The redbanded stink bug, Piezodorus guildinii (Westwood) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomidae), is a rapidly growing pest damaging southern US agriculture. Pentatomid stink bugs are known to vector bacterial, fungal, and viral plant diseases. However, bacteria associated with redbanded stink bugs and their vector potential have not yet been assessed ...

Performance of Piezodorus guildinii on four species of Indigofera legumes
Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, 1992AbstractPiezodorus guildinii (Westwood) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae), a major pest of soybean in South America, feeds on alternative legume hosts, and four species of Indigofera were tested. Nymphal survival was 88% on I. endecaphylla Jacq. (IE), 15% on I. suffruticosa Mill. (IS), 70% on I. hirsuta L. (IH) and 40% on I. truxilliensis H.B.K. (IT)).
