Piezoelectricity in hafnia [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
AbstractBecause of its compatibility with semiconductor-based technologies, hafnia (HfO2) is today’s most promising ferroelectric material for applications in electronics. Yet, knowledge on the ferroic and electromechanical response properties of this all-important compound is still lacking.

Photoresponsive Piezoelectrics [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2021
Most piezoelectric materials are not interactive with visible light, meaning that their band gaps are beyond the photon energies of the visible part of the light spectrum. The first narrow band gap (1.1 eV, the same as silicon) ferroelectric material based on the oxide perovskite structure has been achieved by doping Ni on the B-sites of KNbO3 and ...

Piezoelectric Accelerator [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
AbstractHere we propose the conception of small-size piezoelectric accelerator of charged particles that operates due to the piezoelectric effect at varying mechanical force applied to piezoelectrics in vacuum. The accelerating voltage and the energy of accelerated particles are estimated.

Piezoelectricity in Polyacrylonitrile [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer Journal, 1984
The piezoelectric and related properties in ion-doped (NH4NO3, NaNO3) and undoped films of polyacrylonitrile have been measured as a function of temperature. The piezoelectric constants of both ion-doped and undoped films reach a maximum around 80°C and thereafter decrease markedly with temperature.

The axisymmetric Rayleigh waves in a semi-infinite elastic solid

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2020
: It is well-known that Rayleigh wave, also known as surface acoustic wave (SAW), solutions in semi-infinite solids are plane waves with signatory properties like the distinct velocity and exponentially decaying deformation in the depth.
