A Mesoscopic Electromechanical Theory of Ferroelectric Films and Ceramics [PDF]
We present a multi-scale modelling framework to predict the effective electromechanical behavior of ferroelectric ceramics and thin films. This paper specifically focuses on the mesoscopic scale and models the effects of domains and domain switching ...

The inferior temperature stability of piezoelectric response is the main drawback of KNN-based ceramics. Here, the Ba-doped 0.97(K0.48Na0.52)(Nb0.96Sb0.04)O3-0.03Bax(Bi0.5Ag0.5)1-xZrO3 (abbreviated as KNNS-BxBAZ) textured ceramics were prepared by the ...

Piezoelectric properties of polyamide 11/NaNbO3nanowire composites [PDF]
Polyamide 11(PA 11)/sodium niobate nanowire (NW) 0–3 composites with different volume fractions of NWs were synthesized. The electric polarization (P) was measured as a function of the applied electric field (E).

Porous piezoceramics find nowadays many applications as ultrasonic transducers. The introduction of a controlled porosity into a piezoelectric ceramic could in fact strongly improve the acoustic performances for this kind of applications. In this chapter the more recent literature on the processing of porous ceramics has been reviewed.

Piezoelectric nonlinearity and frequency dispersion of the direct piezoelectric response of BiFeO3 ceramics [PDF]
We report on the frequency and stress dependence of the direct piezoelectric d33 coefficient in BiFeO3 ceramics. The measurements reveal considerable piezoelectric nonlinearity, i.e., dependence of d33 on the amplitude of the dynamic stress.

Molten hydroxide synthesis as an alternative to molten salt sythesis for producing K0.5Na0.5NbO3 lead free ceramics [PDF]
Lead-free piezoelectric materials have grown in importance through increased environmental concern and subsequent EU and worldwide legislation, with the aspiration to reduce the use of Pb-based materials in all sectors. Integration of the next generation

In order to meet the urgent need for high temperature piezoelectric materials with a Curie temperature over 400 °C, the Mn/Nb co-doped strategy has been proposed to improve the weak piezoelectric performance of the Aurivillius-type Na0.5Bi4.5Ti4O15 (NBT)
