Large piezoelectric coefficient with enhanced thermal stability in Nb5+-doped Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3 ceramics

, 2020
Chemical doping is an indispensable tool to tailor the properties of the commercial piezoelectric materials. However, a high piezoelectric coefficient with enhanced thermal stability is rarely achieved by one dopant in some high-performance ...

Stress Dependency of the Thermoelastic and Piezoelectric Coefficients

AIAA Journal, 1997
Abstract An analysis based on fundamental mechanics and thermodynamics is presented for a solid in which the elastic and piezoelectric coefficients are temperature dependent. It is proven that as a consequence of the temperature dependency, the thermal expansion and piezoelectric coefficients must be stress dependent.

Characterization of piezoelectric materials with large piezoelectric and electromechanical coupling coefficients

Ultrasonics, 2003
The relaxor based ferroelectric (1-x)Pb(Zn(1/3)Nb(2/3))O(3)-xPbTiO(3) and (1-x)Pb(Mg(1/3)Nb(2/3))O(3)-xPbTiO(3) single crystals provided new challenges in property characterization because their extraordinarily large piezoelectric coefficients and electromechanical coupling coefficients.

Identification of nonlinear piezoelectric coefficients

Journal of Applied Physics, 2018
An identification scheme that exploits the vibration response and generated voltage of an energy harvester is proposed to estimate parameters representing nonlinear piezoelectric coefficients. We develop the governing equations of a cantilever beam with tip mass and a piezoelectric layer using the generalized Hamilton's principle and by accounting for ...

Piezoelectric coefficient measurement of piezoelectric thin films: an overview

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2002
An overview on the state-of-art piezoelectric measurements of thin films is given. The principles and advantages/disadvantages of the conventional techniques are discussed for piezoelectric applications. Concerning a direct measurement of piezoelectric coefficient and taking into account of 1.0-100.0 mum in film thickness, a displacement of 0.1 nm ...

Giant Piezoelectric Coefficient of Polyvinylidene Fluoride with Rationally Engineered Ultrafine Domains Achieved by Rapid Freezing Processing.

Advances in Materials
Domains play an essential role in determining the piezoelectric properties of polymers. The conventional method for achieving ultrafine piezoelectric domain structures for polymers is multiphase polymerization, which is not the primary choice for ...

Small strain induced large piezoelectric coefficient in α-AsP monolayer

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2019
Strain engineering can effectively tune the electronic, topological and piezoelectric properties of materials. In this work, the small strain (-4\% to 4\%) effects on piezoelectric properties of $\alpha$-AsP monolayer are studied by density functional ...

The Influence of Multiple Piezoelectric Effects on Elastic Coefficient of Piezoelectric Ceramics

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The development of new materials and the performance improvement of existing materials become an important subject from different aspects. In this paper, based on the theoretical research results of multiple piezoelectric effects, the influence of multiple piezoelectric effects on elastic coefficient of piezoelectric ceramics is studied.

Comparison of methods of piezoelectric coefficient measurement

2012 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference Proceedings, 2012
The paper compares the main methods used for measuring of the piezoelectric material constants. It outlines the principle of three measuring methods most commonly used today, i.e. the frequency method, the laser interferometry method and the quasi-static method. These methods have been practically applied to piezoelectric ceramic samples.

Invariant Piezoelectric Coefficients for Crystals

physica status solidi (b), 1970
AbstractIn writing out tensors which represent physical properties of crystals, it is customary to choose a Cartesian frame of reference which has a specific orientation with respect to the crystallographic axes. A new formulation is proposed in which the physical properties (in particular the piezoelectric property) of crystals can be specified ...
