Piezoelectric and Acoustic Properties of Piezoelectric Flexible Composites

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1987
Piezoelectric and acoustic properties of piezoelectric flexible composites or Piezo-Rubbers which have been developed at NTK-NGK are reported. The frequency dependences and hydrostatic pressure dependences of underwater receiving sensitivities of hydrophone using the Piezo-Rubber are discussed in terms of the properties of Piezo-Rubber materials ...

Piezoelectric properties of biological polymers

Quarterly Reviews of Biophysics, 1983
Piezoelectricity and pyroelectricity in wool and hair were observed by Martin early in 1941. The piezoelectric effect in wood was investigated in detail by Bazhenov (1961). Both converse and direct effect of shear piezoelectricity in wood was demonstrated by Fukada (1955). Bending piezoelectricity in bone was first discovered by Yasuda (1953).

Piezoelectric properties of SixGe1-xO2 crystals

2007 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium Joint with the 21st European Frequency and Time Forum, 2007
We report a first measurement of several elastic, piezoelectric, and dielectric characteristics of Si0.93Ge0.07O2 crystals. This was made using the thickness modes of plates of several simple orientations, using normal and/or lateral excitation. Corrections accounting for energy trapping effect (finite electrode dimension and mass loading) or stray ...

Piezoelectric properties of paint sensor according to piezoelectric materials

Functional Composites and Structures, 2020
The objective of this paper is to study the performance of piezoelectric materials on a piezoelectric paint sensor. The paper begins by presenting a fabrication method for a paint sensor with piezoelectric properties using piezoelectric materials. The paint sensor is composed of piezoelectric powder and epoxy resin in a 1:1 weight ratio. Five different

Advanced ordered piezoelectric Ca3NbGa3Si2O14 crystal: Piezoelectric and acoustic properties

2014 European Frequency and Time Forum (EFTF), 2014
A five-component ordered crystal of lanthanum-gallium silicate family Ca3NbGa3Si2O14 (CNGS) was grown by the Czochralski method. The unit cell parameters were determined by using the powder diffraction technique. Independent piezoelectric strain coefficients d11 and d14 were measured by high-resolution X-ray diffraction under the external electric ...

Piezoelectric Properties of Dry Human Skin

IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation, 1986
Mechanoelectrical conversion properties of dry human skin have been examined and their origin investigated in dermis, epidermis and horny layer. Shear stress piezoelectricity is observed in all three cutaneous sections. Piezoelectric properties of dermis can be ascribed to its collagen structural network, while the piezoelectric properties of epidermis

Elastic and piezoelectric properties of piezoelectric composite materials

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part III: Fundamental Electronic Science), 1989
AbstractThis paper offers theoretical and experimental examinations of the elastic and piezoelectric properties of piezoelectric composite materials used mainly for ultrasonic medical‐diagnosis apparatus. One‐dimensional multilayer composite materials in which the thickness of each layer is less than the wavelength of elastic waves (i.e., each layer ...

Piezoelectric Properties of Non‐Polar Block Copolymers

Advanced Materials, 2011
Most polymers are typical dielectric materials, but recent research in our group has shown that nanostructured block copolymer morphologies exhibit new and unexpected electroactive behavior. We present herein the fi rst study of converse piezoelectric properties in non-crystalline polymer systems, consisting of non-polar monomers, and evaluate its ...

High piezoelectric properties of cement piezoelectric composites containing kaolin

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
To obtain high piezoelectric properties, PZT/cement composites with kaolin were fabricated and polarized by 1.5kV/mm electric field for 40 min, where lead zirconate titanate (PZT) inclusion with 50% by volume was used. After the polarization, piezoelectric properties of the composite were measured daily till 100 days.

Structural Characteristics and Piezoelectric Properties of Electrospun Piezoelectric nanofibers

MRS Proceedings, 2005
ABSTRACTThis paper reports the development and characterization of PZT nanofibers with average diameters ranged from 50 to 150 nm for various sensing and actuation applications. PZT nano fibers have been developed by sol-gel electrospinning process. Both randomly distributed and uniaxially aligned PZT fibers were obtained from the sol-gel solution with
