Properties and performance of RAINBOW piezoelectric actuator stacks
SPIE Proceedings, 1997Stacks of RAINBOW high-displacement actuators are currently under consideration for use in scanning mechanisms capable of providing controlled travels on the order of 1 cm. In this work, actuator stacks were produced by stacking PZT-5A and PZT-5H RAINBOWs in a clamshell configuration.

Journal of Zhejiang University-SCIENCE A, 2005Summary: This paper presents a general analytical model of flexible isolation system for application to the installation of high-speed machines and lightweight structures. Piezoelectric stack actuators are employed in the model to achieve vibration control of flexible structures, and dynamic characteristics are also investigated.

Unified Minimalistic Modeling of Piezoelectric Stack Actuators for Engineering Applications
2015Piezoelectric (PZ) actuator is widely recognized for its high precision and displacement accuracy even at nanometer ranges. A minimalistic model is proposed in the present work, for PZ stack actuators. In the proposed model, various stack assembly arrangements have been assumed.

A Laser Scanner Using Stacked Piezoelectric Ceramic Actuator
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1986A laser scanner using the displacement of two stacked piezo-electric ceramic actuators (Piezo-Stacks) has been developed. This scanner is capable of simultaneously scanning both X and Y axes up to 4.0 mrad at frequencies as high as 1.0 kHz. Possible uses include automated precise positioning of optics and lasers for LSI applications.
