High-pressure neutron study of the morphotropic PZT: phase transitions in a two-phase system [PDF]
In piezoelectric ceramics the changes in the phase stabilities versus stress and temperature in the vicinity of the phase boundary play a central role. The present study was dedicated to the classical piezoelectric, lead-zirconate-titanate (PZT) ceramic ...

Electromagnetic Response of Layered Superconductors with Broken Lattice Inversion Symmetry [PDF]
We investigate the macroscopic effects of charge density waves (CDW) and superconductivity in layered superconducting systems with broken lattice inversion symmetry (allowing for piezoelectricity) such as two dimensional (2D) transition metal ...

Strong enhancement of piezoelectric constants in ScxAl1−xN: First-principles calculations
We theoretically investigate the piezoelectricity of ScxAl1−xN in the entire range of x by first-principles calculations. We find that the piezoelectric constants of wurtzite-type ScxAl1−xN significantly enhance as x increases from 0 to 0.75.

On the coupling effects of piezoelectricity and flexoelectricity in piezoelectric nanostructures [PDF]
Flexoelectricity is a novel kind of electromechanical coupling phenomenon that is prevalent in all solid dielectrics and usually of vital importance in nanostructures and soft materials. Although the fundamental theory of flexoelectric solids and related beam or plate theories were extensively studied in recent years, the coupling effect of ...
