[Etiopathogenic aspects of flow-like atrophy of the pigment epithelium of eye].
Bulletin des societes d'ophtalmologie de France, 1990"Like flows" atrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium are observed in multiple cases of lesions of the posterior pole. The authors are reported one observation of different diseases with like flows atrophy.

[Serous central chorioretinopathy. Acute autofluorescence of the pigment epithelium of the eye].
Der Ophthalmologe : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 1999The lack of histopathological material has placed limitations on our knowledge on lipofuscin in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). This study was designed to document the pathological changes of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) in CSCR using in vivo recording of fundus autofluorescence.Fundus autofluorescence was documented in 62 eyes of 44 ...

[Antioxidative function of the melanoprotein granules of the rabbit pigment epithelium of the eye].
Zhurnal evoliutsionnoi biokhimii i fiziologii, 1981The intensity of peroxide oxidation of lipids in the pigmented epithelium of the eye, under hyperoxic conditions, is approximately 6 times lower in pigmented rabbits as compared to albino ones. In pigmented animals, the pigmented epithelium of the eye exerts evident protective effect during the action of oxygen on the retina.

[Cultivation of the retinal pigment epithelium in the cavity of the lentectomized eye of newts].
Ontogenez, 1985A study was made of proliferative activity and transdifferentiation of the cells of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cultivated in the cavity of the lensectomized eye of adult newt. Implantation of the newt RPE together with vascular membrane and scleral coat resulted in the regeneration of retina.

Induction of the retinal pigment epithelium of the chicken embryonic eye
1997During development of the eye, invagination of the optic cup gives rise to a double layered neuroepithelium, part of which differentiates into the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). The molecular mechanisms which control differentiation of the RPE are not known.
