Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

Drawing as Intimation (or Infatuations with Lines, Contours and Shades) [PDF]

open access: yesFeminist Encounters: A Journal of Critical Studies in Culture and Politics
This article focuses on drawing as gesture and bodily intervention – in specific moments where the process of drawing closer, drawing out, or drawing in has significance. While specific attention is paid to drawing as scopic-somatic practice (that is, as

TOPOGRAPHIC MAPPING OF MACULA WITH MFERG IN DIFFUSE RETINAL PIGMENT EPITHELIOPATHY

open access: yes, 2014
Introduction. Multifocal electroretinogram (mfERG) is a technique that can topographically map functional changes in the retina. Topographic mapping of macula with mfERG is presented in a unique case of diffuse retinal pigment epitheliopathy (DRPE). Case

Engineering an Optogenetic pH‐Modulator in Bacteria

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cells in many naturally occurring organisms routinely cooperate to control their extracellular pH in a dynamic and reversible manner, but this capability has been underexplored in synthetic biology. Here, we sought to engineer a microbial system that switches between two states —high and low extracellular pH— with minimal human intervention ...

Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

STRATIGRAPHIC AND PIGMENT IDENTIFICATION IN CULTURAL HERITAGE ARTIFACTS USING TERAHERTZ AND NON-LINEAR SPECTROSCOPIES [PDF]

open access: yes
"The use of non-destructive methods in cultural heritage research preserves artifacts while revealing valuable information about their internal structure. Terahertz (THz) radiation effectively investigates hidden layers, aiding in conservation strategies.

Expressed sequence tags and chromosomal localization of cDNA clones from a subtracted retinal pigment epithelium library [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Expressed sequence tags (ESTs) provide useful molecular landmarks for physical mapping and identify the position of an expressed region in the genome.

Stage‐Specific H3K14 and H3K23 Succinylation Orchestrates Insect Metamorphosis and Oogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stage‐specific succinylation of histone H3 at lysine 14 and 23 differentially controls insect metamorphosis and oogenesis through distinct GPCR‐PKC signaling cascades, revealing an evolutionarily conserved epigenetic mechanism that coordinates key life‐history traits.

Nano Carbon‐mesh with Excellent Bonding Performance via Hydro‐cage De‐shielding Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hydro‐cage de‐shielding strategy transforms cellulose‐based films into a dragonfly‐wing‐like nano carbon‐mesh (NCM) adhesive through instantaneous carbonization‐polymerization. The resulting NCM‐plywood achieves exceptional wet shear strength (1.24 MPa at 63°C), exceeding Class II plywood standards, and retains 0.73 MPa after boiling‐water cycles ...
