Effect of Spacing and Cross-Sectional Shape on Piled Raft System Subjected to Lateral Cyclic Loading

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2020
Piled raft foundations usually supporting bridge piers, offshore platforms, marine structures and others are required to resist not only static loading, but also lateral cyclic loading that developed from different sources of loadings.

Compressive Behavior of Micropile According to Pile Spacing and Embedded Pile Angle in Sand

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Geotechnical Society, 2013
Micropile technology has evolved continuously since its instruction by Fernando Lizzi in the 1950s. The effects of group micropile have been researched by many researchers. The effects of group micropile differ and change with pile length, pile spacing (S), pile angle () and pile embedded conditions.

Homogenisation of a Row of Dislocation Dipoles from Discrete Dislocation Dynamics

open access: yes, 2016
Conventional discrete-to-continuum approaches have seen their limitation in describing the collective behaviour of the multi-polar configurations of dislocations, which are widely observed in crystalline materials. The reason is that dislocation dipoles,

A multi-phase field model of planar dislocation networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we extend the phase-field model of crystallographic slip of Ortiz (1999 J. Appl. Mech. ASME 66 289–98) and Koslowski et al (2001 J. Mech. Phys.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Study on the Effect of Pile Spacing on the Bearing Performance of Low-Capping Concrete Expanded-Plate Group Pile Foundations Under Composite Stress

open access: yesBuildings
The spacing between piles plays a crucial role in determining the load-bearing capacity of CEP group pile foundations equipped with a bearing platform. In this research, five sets of six-pile models with different pile spacings were created using ANSYS ...

Experimental Research on Pile-Soil Stress Ratio of Rigid Pile Composite Foundation in Shallow-Buried Rock and Soft Soil [PDF]

open access: yes长江科学院院报
[Objective] Pile-soil stress ratio is a key parameter in the design of rigid pile composite foundations for shallow-buried rock and soft soil foundations, but the rules governing its value and influencing factors remain unclear.

Bearing capacity of helical pile foundation in peat soil from different, diameter and spacing of helical plates

open access: yes, 2018
In an area dominated by thick peat soil layers, driven piles foundation is often used. These piles are generally skin friction piles where the pile tips do not reach hard stratum.

Defects in Crystalline Packings of Twisted Filament Bundles: I. Continuum Theory of Disclinations

open access: yes, 2011
We develop the theory of the coupling between in-plane order and out-of-plane geometry in twisted, two-dimensionally ordered filament bundles based on the non-linear continuum elasticity theory of columnar materials.
