Pile Spacing Effects on Lateral Pile Group Behavior: Analysis

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering - ASCE, 2006
Using the results from three full-scale lateral pile group load tests in stiff clay with spacing ranging from 3.3 to 5.65, computer analyses were performed to back-calculate p multipliers.

Pile Spacing Effects on Lateral Pile Group Behavior: Load Tests

Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering - ASCE, 2006
To investigate group interaction effects as a function of pile spacing, full-scale cyclic lateral load tests were performed on pile groups in stiff clay spaced at 3.3, 4.4, and 5.65 pile diameters in the direction of loading with as many as five rows of piles. Group interaction effects decreased considerably as pile spacing increased from 3.3 to 5.65D .

Analysis on Infulence of Pile Spacing Acting on Bearing Capacity of Pile and Soil under Pile Cap Together

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In this paper, the caculating model of pile foundation accounting for bearing capacity of soil under pile cap is established. The influnces of pile spacing on load-sharing ratio, settlement and pile top force has been analyed. The result shows that load-share ratio of soil under pile cap and the settlement of pile foundation increase with the pile ...

Two- and three-dimensional analyses of the effect of pile spacing in piled-raft foundations

Acta geotechnica slovenica, 2019
One of the important factors that have to be considered in the design of piled-raft foundations is the selection of the spacing between the piles. In this study, a piled-raft foundation having different pile-spacing configurations and resting on clayey soil was modeled using PLAXIS numerical packages based on the 2D and 3D finite-element methods.

Evaluating the effect of pile spacing and configuration on the lateral resistance of pile groups

Marine Georesources & Geotechnology, 2020
In this study, the effects of pile spacing and pile group (PG) configuration on the static lateral resistance of PGs are investigated using finite element (FE) numerical modeling.

Influence of Clear Edge Distance and Spacing of Piles on Failure of Pile Cap

Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transactions of Civil Engineering, 2019
The design and dimensioning of pile cap is a challenging task depending upon shape and thickness of cap, soil strata, pile dimension and their locations in plan. A pile cap is a reinforced concrete structural rigid slab, which distributes column forces to a group of individual piles as per rivet formula. The main assumption in rivet formula is that the
