Mitigation pilot contamination based on matching technique for uplink cell-free massive MIMO systems

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In this paper, the cell-free massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) network is affected by the pilot contamination phenomenon when a large number of users and a small number of available pilots exists, the quality of service (QoS) will deteriorate

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Towards a kansei-based user modeling methodology for eco-design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We propose here to highlight the benefits of building a framework linking Kansei Design (KD), User Centered Design (UCD) and Eco-design, as the correlation between these fields is barely explored in research at the current time.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

HOPFNet: An End-to-End CSI Acquisition Method for FDD Massive MIMO Systems

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology
In massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems utilizing the frequency-division duplex (FDD), conventional methods for acquiring downlink channel state information (CSI) lead to high computational complexity and heavy feedback overheads.
