FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Paramecium genome survey: a pilot project [PDF]

open access: yesTrends in Genetics, 2001
A consortium of laboratories undertook a pilot sequencing project to gain insight into the genome of Paramecium. Plasmid-end sequencing of DNA fragments from the somatic nucleus together with similarity searches identified 722 potential protein-coding genes. High gene density and uniform small intron size make random sequencing of somatic chromosomes a

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

KRAS and GNAS mutations in cell‐free DNA and in circulating epithelial cells in patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms—an observational pilot study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...
