Peroxisome biogenesis in Hansenula polymorpha: different mutations in genes, essential for peroxisome biogenesis, cause different peroxisomal mutant phenotypes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
In Hansenula polymorpha, different monogenic recessive mutations mapped in either of two previously identified genes, PER1 and PER3, produced different peroxisomal mutant phenotypes.

A Mechanical Modelling and Simulation Method for Resolving PIM Problems in Antennas

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Passive intermodulation (PIM) generated from antennas is a nonlinear distortion phenomenon and causes serious problems to communication quality. Traditional radio frequency (RF) solutions focus on testing the final product to find the PIM source. However,

Pim-selective inhibitor DHPCC-9 reveals Pim kinases as potent stimulators of cancer cell migration and invasion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceBACKGROUND Pim family kinases are small constitutively active serine/threonine-specific kinases, elevated levels of which have been detected in human hematopoietic malignancies as well as in solid tumours.

ATTITUDES OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY USERS ON THEIR IMPACT ON DAILY LIFE, WORK, AND MENTAL HEALTH [PDF]

open access: yesSTED Journal
The digital technological revolution began in the second half of the last century. Its development in the first decades after the discovery of the transistor was rather slow.

Community-based participatory irrigation management at local government level in Ghana [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Ghana has attempted to decentralise the management of irrigation schemes to communities at local government level. This study examines the existing local participatory management structures and the principles of the Participatory Irrigation Management ...

Targeting Pim kinases in hematological cancers: molecular and clinical review

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2023
Decades of research has recognized a solid role for Pim kinases in lymphoproliferative disorders. Often up-regulated following JAK/STAT and tyrosine kinase receptor signaling, Pim kinases regulate cell proliferation, survival, metabolism, cellular ...

Passive Intermodulation at Contacts of Rough Conductors

open access: yesElectronic Materials, 2022
Passive intermodulation (PIM) is a niggling phenomenon that debilitates the performance of modern communications and navigation systems. PIM products interfere with information signals and cause their nonlinear distortion.

Information scraps: how and why information eludes our personal information management tools [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we describe information scraps -- a class of personal information whose content is scribbled on Post-it notes, scrawled on corners of random sheets of paper, buried inside the bodies of e-mail messages sent to ourselves, or typed ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
