Scattering Statistics in Nonlinear Wave Chaotic Systems

open access: yes, 2018
The Random Coupling Model (RCM) is a statistical approach for studying the scattering properties of linear wave chaotic systems in the semi-classical regime. Its success has been experimentally verified in various over-moded wave settings, including both

Silver Ion‐Mediated [hk1]‐Oriented Sb2Se3 Crystal Growth for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ag+‐mediated hydrothermal crystal engineering promotes preferential [hk1]‐oriented growth of Sb2Se3 via an ultrathin MoOx interlayer, improving crystallinity and suppressing non‐radiative recombination. The optimized Ag+ treatment photocathode delivers 24.7 mA cm−2 at 0 VRHE and improved stability, revealing an ion‐modulated route to high‐performance ...

A Simulation Study of Single Event Burnout (SEB) in a High-Voltage Pin Diode [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه علوم و فناوری فضایی
Exposure to ionizing radiation in space can potentially destroy electronic devices due to single-event effects (SEEs). Developing modern space technology requires high-voltage devices to supply the increased electric power demand.

Magnetism and Nonlinear Charge Transport in NiFe2O4/γ‐Al2O3/SrTiO3 Heterostructure: Toward Spintronic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, we demonstrate that a crystalline phase of 52nm thick NiFe2O4 can be grown by RF sputtering on top of γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 at a significantly low temperature (150 °C) without compromising the mobility and carrier density of the 2D electron gas at the γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 interface.

Photoluminescence and Photocurrent from InGaN/GaN Diodes with Quantum Wells of Different Widths and Polarities

open access: yesNanomaterials
We compare the optical properties of four pin diode samples differing by built-in field direction and width of the In0.17Ga0.83N quantum well in the active layer: two diodes with standard nip layer sequences and 2.6 and 15 nm well widths and two diodes ...

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.
