ANALYSIS OF POWER GRIP AND PINCH GRIP AMONG HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS

open access: yesInternational Journal of Physiotherapy, 2016
Background: Grip and pinch strength are commonly employed indices of strength used in hand evaluations. Pinch grip and power grip strengths are used as indices of strength in hand therapy assessments.

FiN‐Kiri: Fabric‐Based Inflatable Kirigami Actuator for Multimodal Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study introduces a type of inflatable fabric‐based kirigami actuator capable of performing bending motion. The actuator is utilized as soft grippers, a crawling robot and a swimming robot. The crawling robot demonstrated extraordinary motion capabilities, such as moving forward, turning and navigating a narrow tunnel.

On the connection between the pinch technique and the background field method

open access: yes, 1994
The connection between the pinch technique and the background field method is further explored. We show by explicit calculations that the application of the pinch technique in the framework of the background field method gives rise to exactly the same ...

An Artificial Antibody‐Based Toolbox Accelerates Validation of Hidden Microproteins Encoded by the Dark Genome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microproteins are hidden treasures encoded by the “dark proteome” but remain largely underexplored due to the lack of highly efficient tools. We developed a molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs)‐based toolbox (CLAIMID) to achieve accelerated and ultrasensitive microproteins validation at multiple biological scales (single living cells, cell populations,

Sheared Flow As A Stabilizing Mechanism In Astrophysical Jets

open access: yes, 2008
It has been hypothesized that the sustained narrowness observed in the asymptotic cylindrical region of bipolar outflows from Young Stellar Objects (YSO) indicates that these jets are magnetically collimated.

The Maximum Aerobic Capacity Effects Assessment and the Hand Power Perceived Exertion Rating

open access: yesInternational Journal of Occupational Hygiene, 2019
Grip and pinch strength are the most important factors affecting the hand’s performance. This study was aimed to evaluate the relationship between maximum aerobic capacity (Vo2max) and to rate the perceived exertion (RPE) with grip, pinch strength and ...

2D Copper MOF Membranes with Precise Pores for Ionic Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Biological ion channels play a critical role in the complex physiological processes of living organisms. Inspired by these natural systems, we demonstrate the fabrication of ultrathin 2D copper‐based metal‐organic framework (CuMOF) films and their application to mimic key functionalities of biological membranes. Using a liquid–air interface

Knitted Pneumatic Fabrics for Dynamic Pressure Modulation in Personalized Healthcare Wearables

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pneumatic pressure‐regulating knitted fabric (PPKF) is developed, in which knitted pneumatic circuit enables the seamless integration of ultralow radial expansion pneumatic fiber into dual‐channel textile structure. By strategically modulating channel spacing, delivering adjustable dynamic pressures and clinically relevant gradient compression ratios.
