Pinewood nematode species complex: interbreeding potential and chromosome number.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
Interbreeding potential, chromosome number, and host range were compared among several isolates and species of Bursaphelenchus from diverse geographic areas. Some isolates from North America, Japan, and France had a wide-ranging interbreeding potential, whereas others were restricted in their potential to hybridize with other isolates.

Effect of fungal interactions on the numbers of the pinewood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Nematoda : Aphelenchoididae), carried by the japanese pine sawyer, Monochamus alternatus (Coleoptera : Cerambycidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997

A novel Arthrobotrys species: Taxonomic characterization, nematicidal activity, and multi-omics insights into nematode predation

open access: yesBiological Control
Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, the pinewood nematode (PWN), is a devastating invasive pest responsible for widespread mortality in global conifer forests. During a survey of bark beetle-associated fungi, a nematode-trapping fungus was isolated from an empty

The extract of Hypoxylon spp. Sj18 kills the pinewood nematode through nematode-associated bacteria

open access: yes
Abstract Pine wilt disease, caused by the pinewood nematode (PWN), is a highly contagious and serious coniferous tree disease worldwide, resulting in considerable economic and environmental losses. Chemical insecticides are effective, but they lead to drug resistance and environmental pollution, which makes them inadvisable for widespread use ...
