Effects of various hormonal treated plant substrates on development and yield of Pleurotus ostreatus

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture, 2016
Effects of various hormonally treated substrates on mycelial development, pinning and biomass of Pleurotus ostreatus were investigated. A 3 × 4 experimental layout was used i.e.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Individual and Multi Vortex Pinning in Systems with Periodic Pinning Arrays

open access: yes, 2001
We examine multi and individual vortex pinning in thin superconductors with periodic pinning arrays. For multi-vortex pinning we observe peaks in the critical current of equal magnitude at every matching field, while for individual vortex pinning we ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Reluxation Rates Following Different Techniques for Open Stabilisation of Feline Coxofemoral Dislocations

open access: yesVeterinary Evidence, 2019
PICO questionIn cats with craniodorsal coxofemoral luxation does surgical stabilisation using a toggle rod technique result in a lower rate of reluxation than using a transarticular pin?Clinical bottom lineThere is currently insufficient evidence to ...

The influence of the Hall force on the vortex dynamics in type II superconductors

open access: yes, 1999
The effect of the Hall force on the pinning of vortices in type II superconductors is considered. A field theoretic formulation of the pinning problem allows a non-perturbative treatment of the influence of quenched disorder.

Affecting the Properties of Copper–Graphene Electroconductive Composite by Severe Plastic Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Droplets Sliding Down Partially Wetted (Non-Superhydrophobic) Surfaces: A Review

open access: yesLiquids
Droplets sliding down a partially wetted surface are a ubiquitous phenomenon in nature and everyday life. Despite its apparent simplicity, it hinders complex intricacies for theoretical and numerical descriptions matching the experimental observations ...

Role of rare events in the pinning problem

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Type II superconductors exhibit a fascinating phenomenology that is determined by the dynamical properties of the vortex matter hosted by the material.

Dynamic Phases of Vortices in Superconductors with Periodic Pinning

open access: yes, 1997
We present results from extensive simulations of driven vortex lattices interacting with periodic arrays of pinning sites. Changing an applied driving force produces a rich variety of novel dynamical plastic flow phases which are very distinct from those
