2.4. Pinus pinaster oleoresin volatiles Only P. pinaster yielded enough oleoresin from feeding wounds to be sampled for analysis of volatiles, although some oleoresin exudation was also seen from P. pinea after feeding by M. galloprovincialis. The volatiles collected by SPME from each P.

Ectomycorrhizal fungi of Pinus pinaster

Mycorrhiza, 1995
A study was undertaken to determine the ability to form ectomycorrhizae with Pinus pinaster Ait. in pure culture syntheses of 98 isolates of putative mycorrhizal fungi, mainly collected in northern Spain. A total of 35 species in 16 genera — Amanita, Cenococcum, Collybia, Cortinarius, Hebeloma, Laccaria, Lactarius, Lyophyllum, Melanogaster, Paxillus ...

Realised gains from breeding Pinus pinaster

Forest Ecology and Management, 1993
Abstract Large genetic gains have been realised from the breeding of Pinus pinaster in Western Australia. Yield trials, now 18 years old, have shown that orchard seedlots: increased total volume production (+ 36%); produced a better quality of timber and higher recovery by being straighter (+40%) and smaller limbed (+25%); and increased the ...

Maritime Pine (Pinus pinaster Sol.)

1991
The genus Pinus is the most important among the Conifers, with about 80 species, one of which is the maritime pine, Pinus pinaster Sol. (2n = 24). It is a resinous tree with persistent and very long needles two or three of which are grouped into fascicles with a basal sheath.

2S Arginine-rich proteins from Pinus pinaster seeds

Tree Physiology, 1994
Low molecular weight globulins, which are abundant proteins in the Pinus pinaster Ait. megagametophyte, were purified and characterized. They showed a dimeric structure formed of one large and one small subunit linked by disulfide bridges. They were characterized by a high Arg and Glx content and by a relatively high Cys content.
