Tree growth response and adaptation to climate change and climate extremes: From canopy to stem

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes the responses and adaptations of tree growth, including canopy phenology, intra‐annual wood formation dynamics, and annual stem growth, to climate change and climate extremes. It highlights key knowledge gaps for future research to support sustainable forest management and enhance forest carbon storage under ongoing climate ...

Long-term dynamics of forests with Pinus sibirica in the upper reaches of the River Kolva (Northern Pre-Urals, Russia) from 1938 to 2023

open access: yesNature Conservation Research: Заповедная наука
Forest ecosystems have been impacted by human activity over several millennia in a variety of ways. Previous land use activity has not only changed the ratio of various terrestrial ecosystems, but also influenced the distribution of tree species.

Species identity and spatial scale drive context‑dependent tree diversity effects in a Finnish forest experiment

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 5, May 2026.
Tree species diversity is known to affect tree growth and leaf traits, which in turn can influence various ecosystem processes. However, the reported direction of these tree diversity effects is inconsistent, indicating that their outcomes depend strongly on ecological context.

Survey of Ecological Characteristics of Boreal Tree Species in Fennoscandia and the USSR [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The paper presents results from a literature study on autecological characteristics of North European and Asian boreal and boreo-nemoral tree species. It also provides general ecological information about the main forest types in the boreal region of the

Asymmetric introgression between Pinus sibirica and Pinus pumila in the Aldan plateau (Eastern Siberia) [PDF]

open access: yesSilvae Genetica, 2018
Abstract Pinus sibirica and P. pumila are Asian five-needle pines with vast geographic distributions that are partially overlapping. Natural hybrids with intermediate morphology have been found previously, but there is a lack of evidence of ongoing introgression.

Uncovering the Key Factors Influencing Phytochemical and Phytopharmacological Properties During Medicinal Plant Processing

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 1, February 2026.
From farm to pharma, this review details the engineering of quality in medicinal plants through a science‐driven approach: it first elucidates how genetic and environmental factors inscribe the plant's phytochemical and phytopharmacological profile before harvest, and then dissects the postharvest techniques and technologies—chemical and thermal pre ...

Photosynthetic CO2 response to soil water and its simulation using different models in leaves of two species

open access: yesPhotosynthetica, 2020
CO2 concentrations and soil moisture conditions are important factors in photosynthesis of trees. This study investigated the photosynthetic CO2 responses in the leaves of Prunus sibirica L. and Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. under eight soil water conditions

Study on ectomycorrhizea of Siberian Pine (Pinus sibirica)

open access: yesMongolian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2015
The ectomycorrhizal fungal community associated with Pinus Sibirica (Siberian Pine) in a Mongolian forest was investigated in this study. The ectomycorrhizaes were isolated from roots of Siberian pine and identified as Russulia Sardonia, Rhodocollybia butyracea, Tuber borchii, Tricholloma auratum and Lactarius deliciosus.
