Enhanced Correlations and Wide Charge Distributions in Pion Production [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1996
Unusual phenomena in pion production are considered. It is argued that pions may be in a squeezed state having enhanced identical pion correlations. Charge distribution in soft chiral pion bremsstrahlung is shown to be very broad.

Evidence of glass bead‐making in the early Islamic Iberian Peninsula

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 67, Issue 2, Page 364-379, April 2025.
Abstract Glass beads from two Islamic archaeological sites in the Tagus valley in central Spain were selected and analysed by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA‐ICP‐MS), and a subset of samples (n = 6) was analysed for Pb isotopes by multicollector thermal ionization mass spectrometry (MC‐TIMS).

PION–PION SCATTERING ABOVE RESONANCES [PDF]

open access: yesMeson 2002, 2003
We model large angle intermediate energy pion-pion scattering by the pQCD two-gluon (2g) exchange contribution and discuss the onset of the dominance of the Glauber-Gribov-Landshoff (GGL) component. The pQCD 2g exchange contribution becomes substantial already at $|t|\sim$ 1 GeV^{2}, but the pQCD exchange dominance is deferred to $|t|\sim$ 3 GeV^{2 ...

Changes in EEG Microstate Dynamics and Cognition Post‐Chemotherapy in People With Breast Cancer

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Chemotherapy‐related cognitive changes following breast cancer are commonly reported; however, changes in brain dynamics of large‐scale neural networks remain unclear. Using data from the Aerobic exercise and CogniTIVe functioning in women with breAsT cancEr (ACTIVATE) trial, we conducted exploratory analyses to compare self‐reported

Pion and Kaon Polarizabilities at CERN COMPASS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The electric alpha and magnetic beta pion Compton polarizabilities characterize the pion's deformation in the electromagnetic field of the gamma during gamma-pi Compton scattering.

Soft Pion Emission in Hard Exclusive Pion Production [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We investigate hard exclusive reactions on the nucleon with soft pion emission. A parametrization of corresponding hadronic matrix elements in terms of parton distributions for final pion-nucleon state is provided. These distributions are calculated in terms of nucleon and pion GPDs and the pion distribution amplitude via soft-pion theorems.

Functional Connectivity in Chronic Schizophrenia: An EEG Resting‐State Study with Corrected Imaginary Phase‐Locking

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2025.
Using ciPLV, an EEG connectivity metric less affected by volume conduction, we found that schizophrenia patients exhibit distinct long‐range functional connectivity abnormalities in theta and beta/gamma bands—suggesting new potential biomarkers for chronic schizophrenia.

Dispersion relation for hadronic light-by-light scattering: two-pion contributions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
In this third paper of a series dedicated to a dispersive treatment of the hadronic light-by-light (HLbL) tensor, we derive a partial-wave formulation for two-pion intermediate states in the HLbL contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (

Virtual-pion and two-photon production in pp scattering

open access: yes, 2002
Two-photon production in pp scattering is proposed as a means of studying virtual-pion emission. Such a process is complementary to real-pion emission in pp scattering.

Speech Reception Threshold Estimation via EEG‐Based Continuous Speech Envelope Reconstruction

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 61, Issue 6, March 2025.
This study estimated the speech reception threshold from EEG (SRTneuro) using envelope reconstruction of continuous‐speech stimuli. It also investigated the influence of the signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) on the temporal response function (TRF). The SRTneuro was within 3 dB of the behaviorally measured SRT (SRTbeh) for all 20 participants.
