Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Mode splitting in meta‐waveguide microring resonators (MWMRs) effectively suppresses baseline drift and measurement noise while maintaining high refractive‐index sensitivity. This reflection‐induced mode splitting strategy enables quantitative detection of ultra‐weak surface perturbations and establishes MWMRs as a robust, drift‐immune platform for ...

Plasmon-free Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy on TiO\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e-graphene Oxide Inverse Opal Substrates [PDF]
TiO2-graphene oxide (GO) inverse opal materials were shown to be active plasmon-free surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrates. The SERS activity of the substrates was analyzed using three different probe molecules: phenethylamine (PEA ...
