In the last week of July 2010 accidentally were caught two adult individuals of pirapitinga Piaractus brachypomus (Cuvier 1818) in the Croatian waters. The first individual was caught in the Drava River, 12 kilometres upstream of the City of Osijek. The second individual was caught in the Danube River, near the confluence of the Drava and Danube Rivers.
