Selective Pectoralis Muscle Denervation Reduces Capsular Contracture in Sub‐Pectoral Breast Reconstruction. Long‐Term Retrospective Case‐ Control Study

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Implant‐based breast reconstruction (IBBR) is the most common method of breast reconstruction globally. Although the traditional approach places implants in a retropectoral position, pre‐pectoral reconstruction has recently gained popularity due to its improved aesthetic outcomes and lower capsular contracture (CC) rates.

Boundary-layers for a Neumann problem at higher critical exponents

open access: yes, 2016
We consider the Neumann problem $$(P)\qquad - \Delta v + v= v^{q-1} \ \text{in }\ \mathcal{D}, \ v > 0 \ \text{in } \ \mathcal{D},\ \partial_\nu v = 0 \ \text{on } \partial\mathcal{D} ,$$ where $\mathcal{D} $ is an open bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^N,$ $

The potential role of sleep quality in the relationship between glymphatic function and migraine frequency: Insights from a cross‐sectional study

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study aimed to explore the association between glymphatic function, as assessed by the diffusion tensor imaging along perivascular space (DTI‐ALPS) index, and headache frequency in individuals with migraine. Additionally, it evaluated whether sleep quality modulates this relationship.

Nonexistence and multiplicity of solutions to elliptic problems with supercritical exponents

open access: yes, 2012
We consider the supercritical problem -\Delta u = |u|^{p-2}u in \Omega, u=0 on \partial\Omega, where $\Omega$ is a bounded smooth domain in $\mathbb{R}^{N},$ $N\geq3,$ and $p\geq2^{*}:= 2N/(N-2).$ Bahri and Coron showed that if $\Omega$ has nontrivial ...

Organized Crime, Corruption, and Economic Growth

open access: yesJournal of Regional Science, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 535-560, March 2025.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we study the relationship between organized crime, corruption, and economic growth on a data set from Italian regions for the period 1996–2013. Our working hypothesis is that organized crime can embezzle part of the public expenditure aimed at productive uses by threatening and bribing public officers. To assess the consequences

The enigmatic case of Lipoptena sp. in the Bosco della Mesola Nature Reserve (Italy)

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 82-90, March 2026.
This is the first report of Lipoptena andaluciensis in Italy, confirmed morphologically and genetically. The presence of L. andaluciensis in Italy dates back many years; it was found on cervids in lowland habitats. A re‐examination of the previous report of the Italian L. fortisetosa is needed.
