Piston Error Evaluation and Correction for Multi-aperture Imaging System

open access: diamondJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract In this paper, the imaging quality of a three-aperture Golay3 imaging system is studied. The formula of point spread function (PSF) is derived when piston errors exist among each subaperture. The 1951 resolution target is used to analyze the imaging quality under the influence of different piston errors.

On the Effect of a Rail Pressure Error State Observer in Reducing Fuel Injection Cycle-to-Cycle Variation in an Opposed-Piston Compression Ignition Engine [PDF]

open access: goldEnergies, 2018
The fuel injection cycle-to-cycle variation characteristic in an opposed-piston compression ignition engine was investigated experimentally. Based on the optimal Proportion Integration Differentiation (PID) method, a new control method was proposed by ...

Piston Error Measurement for Segmented Telescope Based on a Hybrid Artificial Neural Network

open access: greenSensors, 2023
Aimed for the difficulty and complexity of detecting the piston error for segmented telescope, this paper proposed a new piston error measurement method based on a hybrid artificial neural net-work. Firstly, we use Resnet network to learn the mapping relationship between the focal plane degradation image and the signs of the piston error.

Experimental study on phase diversity wavefront sensing technology in piston error detection

open access: hybridActa Physica Sinica, 2012
Phase diversity wavefront sensing technology has been implemented successfully in many domains because of its simple and compact optical configuration, lower environment requirement, better measurement accuracy, and so on. In this paper, the co-phasing technique for segment primary mirrors is studied by using the phase diversity wavefront sensing ...

The LBTI Fizeau imager – II. Sensitivity of the PSF and the MTF to adaptive optics errors and to piston errors [PDF]

open access: greenMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2017
We show numerical simulations with monochromatic light in the visible for the LBTI Fizeau imager, including opto-dynamical aberrations due here to adaptive optics (AO) errors and to differential piston fluctuations, while other errors have been neglected.

Large sparse aperture telescope wavefront sensing and control via pretrained neural network with attention module. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Rep
The ability to detect pistons with high accuracy over a wide range is paramount to the co-phasing of sparse aperture optical systems. This paper proposes a global piston error modulation method for sparse aperture mirrors based on convolutional neural ...

Prediction of Input-Output Characteristic Curves of Hydraulic Cylinders Based on Three-Layer BP Neural Network. [PDF]

open access: yesSensors (Basel)
To predict the variation in the displacement position of hydraulic cylinder piston rods, a neural network model is proposed to enhance the displacement control accuracy of hydraulic cylinders.

Acoustic modelling of surface sources. Part I. Piston model, discretizing error, axisymmetrical problem

open access: greenArchives of Acoustics, 2014
The paper discusses the application of irregular boundary elements in BEM method. These elements were proposed in order to reduce the number of the elements in acoustical model of surface source.
