Enhanced Performance 3‐D Printed PLA Parts through a Photo‐Initiator Mediated UV‐Curing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This solvent‐free method enhances 3‐D printed PLA parts by incorporating photo‐initiators during fabrication, followed by up to 3 min UV treatment. This process improves PLA's mechanical properties, including a 64% increase in tensile strength, while addressing weak interlayer bonding and outdoor sensitivity.

3-beam self-calibrated Kernel nulling photonic interferometer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The use of interferometric nulling for the direct characterization of extrasolar planets is an exciting prospect, but one that faces many practical challenges when deployed on telescopes. The largest limitation is the extreme sensitivity of nullers to any residual optical path differences between the incoming telescope beams even after adaptive optics ...

End‐to‐End Optimization of Metalens for Broadband and Wide‐Angle Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 9, March 21, 2025.
A straightforward hardware architecture is adopted, featuring an aperture stop inserted in front of the metalens to provide additional design flexibility for mitigating monochromatic aberrations. This enables high signal‐to‐noise ratio measurements and reduces the load on the reconstruction network. Additionally, an end‐to‐end optimization framework is

Large amplitude tip/tilt estimation by geometric diversity for multiple-aperture telescopes

open access: yes, 2017
A novel method nicknamed ELASTIC is proposed for the alignment of multiple-aperture telescopes, in particular segmented telescopes. It only needs the acquisition of two diversity images of an unresolved source, and is based on the computation of a ...

Work and energy gain of heat-pumped quantized amplifiers

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate heat-pumped single-mode amplifiers of quantized fields in high-Q cavities based on non-inverted two-level systems. Their power generation is shown to crucially depend on the capacity of the quantum state of the field to accumulate useful ...

Mechanical Compatibility in Stitch Configuration and Sensor Adhesion for High‐Fidelity Pulse Wave Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 14, April 10, 2025.
This study focuses on the early diagnosis of CVDs through pulse waveforms, requiring wearable devices to achieve high‐fidelity monitoring of pulse waves from the body surface. Knitted strain sensors are optimized in terms of mechanical adaptation and adhesion capability.
