Piston rotation and frictional forces between piston and cylinder of piston and motor
The influence of the piston rotation on the frictional forces between the piston and the cylinder has been studied experimentally for a swash plate type piston pump and motor. In order to measure the rotational speeds of the piston, the capacitance detecting method have been employed for the piston with the slits.

Programming piston displacements for constant flow rate piston pumps with trigonometric transition functions [PDF]
An analytical method for programming piston displacements for constant flow rate piston pumps is presented. A total of two trigonometric transition functions are introduced to express the piston velocities during the transition processes, which can ...

Influence of Piston Number on Churning Losses in Axial Piston Pumps
Raising the rotational speed of an axial piston pump is useful for improving its power density; however, the churning losses of the piston increase significantly with increasing speed, and this reduces the performance and efficiency of the axial piston ...

An Empirical Model for the Churning Losses Prediction of Fluid Flow Analysis in Axial Piston Pumps
The manufacturing development of axial piston pumps usually takes the trend of high speed and miniaturization, and increases power density. Axial piston pumps are usually characterized as high speed to improve the power density; thus, high-speed churning

Radiation Loading on Pistons and Arrays of Pistons [PDF]
Expressions are presented whereby the radiation load on a piston or an array of pistons may be determined from physical principles and factors illustrated by various types of well-known radiating surfaces, wave guides, and conical horns. On the assumption that the radiation loading on a piston may be defined sufficiently by its low- and high-frequency ...
