Laser‐Induced Periodic Phase‐Transition of 2D‐MoTe2 Nanograting Template for Frequency‐Shift Digital‐SERS Immunoassay of Autoimmune Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A protocol of fs‐laser‐induced periodic phase‐transition of 2D‐MoTe2 template, inducing AuNPs@1T’‐MoTe2 nanograting, is developed. The labeled AuNPs@1T’‐MoTe2 substrate conjugated with specialized immunoglobulin G demonstrates an unexpectedly high discrimination accuracy close to unity for serological diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis by frequency ...

Hand proximity facilitates spatial discrimination of auditory tones

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2014
The effect of hand proximity on vision and visual attention has been well documented. In this study we tested whether such effect(s) would also be present in the auditory modality.

Self‐Powered Bearing Sensing and Real‐Time Fault Diagnosis Enabled by Non‐Invasive Triboelectric Sensors and Edge AI Acceleration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves the synergistic integration of self‐powered sensing and edge AI acceleration to establish a real‐time fault diagnosis system. The proposed TENG‐based self‐powered bearing sensor (NSE‐TBS) and FPGA‐accelerated edge AI framework fundamentally break through the inherent limitations of conventional monitoring systems, including complex ...

Pitch Discrimination for Synthetic Vowels [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1957
A psychoacoustic experiment to determine the just-discriminable changes in the fundamental frequency of synthetic vowels is described. The experimental parameters investigated are several combinations of four vowels (|i, æ, ɑ, u|), three sound pressure levels (60, 70, and 80 db re 0.0002 dyne/cm2) and two fundamental frequencies (80 and 120 cps).

Auditory same/different concept learning and generalization in black-capped chickadees (Poecile atricapillus)

open access: yes, 2012
concept learning was thought to be uniquely human, but has since been observed in many other species. Discriminating same from different is one abstract relation that has been studied frequently.

PancDS in Real‐World Practice: A Prospective Multicenter Validation of a Clinical Decision‐Support System Bridging Experience Gaps in Pancreatic Lesion Diagnosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic artificial intelligence system, PancDS, has been developed to distinguish pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma from mass‐forming pancreatitis by adaptively integrating clinical data, radiomics, and deep learning features. Validated across multicenter, reader‐study, and prospective settings, PancDS improves diagnostic accuracy, particularly for

Synergistic Integration of Artificial Merkel Disc and Meissner Corpuscle via Dermal Papillary Structures for Mechanically Filtered Multimodal Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal tactile sensor module that mimics the spatial arrangement and function of Merkel discs and Meissner corpuscles within the human papillary structure operates in a self‐powered manner, responding to both dynamic and static stimuli, achieving tactile perception more similar to human skin.

Population balance modeling and digital design of degree of agglomeration in industrial crystallization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This study presents a coupled population balance model (PBM) for describing the degree‐of‐agglomeration (DoA) in crystallization by independently tracking total particle and agglomerate number densities. Applied to an industrial active pharmaceutical ingredient, the model outperformed bridge‐counting methods and accurately captured DoA trends ...
