A Real‐World Study of CGRP Monoclonal Antibodies for Migraine: Long‐Term Effectiveness and Treatment Adherence

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 3, March 2026.
In our 24‐month real‐world study, the mean monthly migraine days (MMDs) significantly decreased from baseline by 6.8, 7.9, 8.7, and 10.0 days at Months 3, 6, 12, and 24, respectively (all p < 0.001). Significant reductions were also observed across all time points in both episodic migraine and chronic migraine subgroups.

Immunomodulatory Effects of the Neuropeptide Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide in Acute Toxoplasmosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2019
Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide (PACAP) is an endogenous neuropeptide with distinct functions including the regulation of inflammatory processes.

Concomitant Use of DPP‐4 Inhibitors May Prevent the Development of Oxaliplatin‐Induced Peripheral Neuropathy: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Oxaliplatin‐induced peripheral neuropathy (OIPN) causes numbness and pain in the limbs, often leading to interruption of chemotherapy and representing a significant clinical problem. Previous basic studies have suggested that the dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 (DPP‐4) inhibitor alogliptin may prevent OIPN.

The Emerging Role of Neuropeptides in Parkinson’s Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2021
Parkinson’s disease (PD), the second most common age-related neurodegenerative disease, results from the loss of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra. This disease is characterized by cardinal non-motor and motor symptoms.

Biochemical and Physiological Effects of Galanin in Health and Disease

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 2, 31 January 2026.
Galanin is a biologically active neuropeptide hormone that mediates its effects through three galanin receptors. Galanin signaling induces changes in glucose homeostasis amongst others and plays a dynamic role in the physiological health of many organ systems.

Increased luminescence of the GloSensor cAMP assay in LβT2 cells does not correlate with cAMP accumulation under low pH conditions

open access: yesThe Journal of Reproduction and Development, 2019
Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) plays a pivotal role in gonadotrope responses in the pituitary. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) mediated synthesis and secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) are regulated ...

Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide deficient mice show length abnormalities of the axon initial segment

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2023
We previously found that pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP)-deficient (PACAP−/−) mice exhibit dendritic spine morphology impairment and neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD)-like behaviors such as hyperactivity, increased novelty ...

PACAP Alleviates Paclitaxel‐Induced Peripheral Neuropathy by Targeting Oxidative Stress and Mitochondrial Damage via the PGC‐1α Pathway

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study demonstrates that PACAP alleviates paclitaxel‐induced peripheral neuropathy in mice. Its protective mechanism involves activating the PGC‐1α pathway to restore mitochondrial function and reduce oxidative stress in sensory neurons. Crucially, PACAP does not interfere with the anti‐tumor efficacy of paclitaxel.

Markers of Genetic Variation in Blue Gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus) as a Model for Labyrinth Fish

open access: yesBiology, 2021
Markers of genetic variation between species are important for both applied and basic research. Here, various genes of the blue gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus, suborder Anabantoidei, a model labyrinth fish), many of them involved in growth and ...

Persistent postural‐perceptual dizziness versus vestibular migraine: A narrative review

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, Volume 66, Issue 1, Page 298-306, January 2026.
Abstract Objective This article reviews the differences and similarities between persistent postural‐perceptual dizziness (PPPD) and vestibular migraine. Background PPPD is considered a chronic functional vestibular disorder characterized by persistent dizziness, unsteadiness, nonspinning vertigo, and often exacerbated by upright posture, movement, or ...
