Pituitary apoplexy is associated with concurrent or subsequent diagnosis of human immunodeficiency virus

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
Objective Pituitary apoplexy (PA) is a rare condition caused by hemorrhage or infarction of the pituitary gland with associated risk of cranial neuropathies, endocrinopathies, and even death. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) has been shown to have some

Pituitary adenoma apoplexy

open access: yesClinical Medicine (Russian Journal), 2017
We present 3 cases of pituitary adenoma apoplexy in young women (one microadenoma and two macroadenomas). The possible risk factors, clinical presentation and outcome of pituitary apoplexy are discussed. Diagnostic errors as regards pituitary adenoma apoplexy are analyzed.

Association Between Lactate/Albumin Ratio and Delirium Risk in Critically Ill Patients With Acute Heart Failure: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study identified the lactate/albumin ratio (LAR) as a significant independent predictor of delirium in critically ill patients with acute heart failure. Higher LAR levels correlate with increased delirium risk, suggesting that LAR can serve as a valuable clinical biomarker for early risk stratification and intervention.

The emerging role of chemokines and chemokine receptors in the biological and clinical behaviour of pituitary neuroendocrine tumours: An exploratory transcriptomic study

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract The chemokine network in the microenvironment of pituitary neuroendocrine tumours (PitNETs) may modulate tumour biology, aggressiveness, and treatment responses. We aimed to study the role of various chemokines and chemokine receptors in defining PitNET phenotype and clinical outcomes.
