Cytologie und Spermapolyploidie bei Pityogenes chalcographus L. (Col., Scolytidae)
Journal of Applied Entomology, 1986AbstractCytology and spermpolyploidy in Pityogenes chalcographus L. (Col., Scolytidae)These experiments are based on the biological relationship that a partial reproductive incompatibility does exist between certain populations of Pityogenes chalcographus.

Frequent windthrow in the strict reserves of spruce in the Kopaonik National Park provides much material favorable for the development of Ips typographus (L.) and Pityogenes chalcographus (L.) (Coleoptera, Scolytidae). Therefore it was assumed that the abundance of these bark beetles in the reserves was high and that they dispersed to the surrounding ...

Abstract Capillary gas chromatography and mass spectrometry were used to quantify the amounts of E- and Z- chalcogran and methyl (E,Z)-2,4-decadienoate (E,Z-MD), pheromone synergists of the bark beetle Pitygenes chalcographys (Coleoptera: Scolytidae).

Felling date affects the occurrence of Pityogenes chalcographus on Scots pine logging residues
Agricultural and Forest Entomology, 2012Logging residues form a substantial portion of the dead wood in managed forests, and logging residues can facilitate bark beetle multiplication and outbreaks. For these reasons, it is highly advisable to find a way of reducing the risk of bark beetle outbreaks without extensive ...

Pityogenes chalcographus L.

Zeitschrift für Angewandte Entomologie, 1977AbstractStudies on intraspecific incompatibility in Pityogenes chalcographus L. (Col., Scolytidae)Fertility of 13 North and Central European strains of Pityogenes chalcographus was comparatively studied in the laboratory and crossing experiments between some of these strains were performed.

Trappings of Pityogenes chalcographus L., with CME 519-74 and Chalcoprax
1989A summary of projects conducted by the Cemagref on the Pityogenes chalcographus' pheromonal complex is presented with emphasis on the commercial mixture, chalcoprax, as mass attractant. This insect tends to destroy young spruce populations. As with the Phéroprax used for the typographus, this artificial pheromone can be used to monitor the relative ...
