Body Mass Index Modifies the Effect of Hemovac Drainage on Blood Loss After Total Knee Arthroplasty

In tranexamic acid–treated primary total knee arthroplasty, estimated blood loss increased with rising BMI when no drain was used but remained stable across the BMI range with Hemovac drainage. These findings support a BMI‐based, selective use of drains rather than routine placement.

Time to Clinical Dryness and Wound Outcomes After Drainless DAA Total Hip Arthroplasty With Standardized Multilayer Symmetric PDS Plus Closure: Bikini Versus Longitudinal Incisions

Standardized drainless DAA‐THA closure using Symmetric PDS Plus is safe and efficient, with “time to clinical dryness” serving as a pragmatic indicator of early healing. Furthermore, bikini incisions significantly improve aesthetics without compromising safety, as wound complication risks are primarily driven by host comorbidities.
