Use of a novel ball-joint guide array for magnetic resonance imaging–guided cannula placement and convective delivery: technical note [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Neurosurgery, 2021
OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to assess the feasibility, accuracy, effectiveness, and safety of an MRI-compatible frameless stereotactic ball-joint guide array (BJGA) as a platform for cannula placement and convection-enhanced delivery (CED ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Shared Cache Coded Caching Schemes with known User-to-Cache Association Profile using Placement Delivery Arrays

open access: yes2022 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2022
This work considers the coded caching problem with shared caches, where users share the caches, and each user gets access only to one cache. The user-to-cache association is assumed to be known at the server during the placement phase. We focus on the schemes derived using placement delivery arrays (PDAs).

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Coded Distributed Computing Under Combination Networks

open access: yesEntropy
Coded distributed computing (CDC) is a powerful approach to reduce the communication overhead in distributed computing frameworks by utilizing coding techniques. In this paper, we focus on the CDC problem in (H,L)-combination networks, where H APs act as

Computational simulations establish a novel transducer array placement arrangement that extends delivery of therapeutic TTFields to the infratentorium of patients with brainstem gliomas

open access: yesReports of Practical Oncology and Radiotherapy, 2021
Tumor treating fields (TTFields) are a non-invasive, efficacious treatment modality currently approved for supratentorial glioblastomas. Despite their ability to improve overall survival in supratentorial tumors, the current placement of arrays is limited to the supratentorial head, precluding its use in infratentorial tumors.
