KOM′YA-KURAY GOLD PLACER OF THE ATLYAN GROUP, MIASS RIVER VALLEY, AND PROSPECTS FOR FURTHER EXPLORATION OF GOLD PLACERS OF THE SOUTH URALS [PDF]
Fifty six minerals were identified in 231 heave concentrates from 30 boreholes of the Kom′yaKuray gold placer of the Atlyan placer group, which have been mined since 1930 to 1960 and additionally explored in 1980s–1990s.

Application of hydrocyclones for recovery of fine gold from placer material [PDF]
Alaska and other gold areas have seen a sharp resurgence of placer mining in the last few years. Mines using sluice boxes usually recover gold down to 100 mesh, but recovery of gold finer than this size is a function of particle shape factor, sluice box ...

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Distribution, analysis, and recovery of fine gold from alluvial deposits [PDF]
The United States Bureau of Mines, in its Heavy Metals Program, desired to have research performed to determine the size-frequency distribution and possible economic value of gold particles in the fine size ranges of Alaskan placer deposits.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Applicability of siberian placer mining technology to Alaska [PDF]
The result of Perestroyka and Glasnost has been an awakening of potential for cooperation between East and West. Nowhere has that been better demonstrated than between Alaska and Magadan Province, USSR. This report summarizes a one year effort financed
