MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Gold Placers and Placering in Arizona

open access: yes, 1961
Gold placers, or deposits such as gravel and sand which contain notable concentrations of gold, all result from the slow milling and concentration processes incident to natural erosion of pre-existing gold-bearing rocks.

PLACER DEPOSITS OF THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC AND WAYS OF DEVELOPMENT [PDF]

open access: yesМинералогия, 2017
Placer deposits of gold, platinoids, tin, diamonds, rare metals and the titan are known in the Arctic region of Russia. Many of the objects are exploitated already more than half a century and so far are in large part developed, while the remained ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Heavy mineral provenance and the genesis of stanniferous placers in northeastern Tasmania

open access: yes, 1990
A heavy mineral provenance study of stanniferous placers in northeastern Tasmania reveals that the placers were formed during 'long' periods of geologic time by episodic recycling dating back at least to the Permian. With the aid of heavy mineral species
