Magmatic Interaction as Recorded in Texture and Composition of Plagioclase Phenocrysts from the Sirjan Area, Urumieh-Dokhtar Magmatic Arc, Iran [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2009
Tertiary andesitic basalts of the Sirjan area, Urmieh-Dokhtar Magmatic Arc, Iran, contain plagioclase phenocrysts enclosed in a matrix of amphibole, clinopyroxene and rare olivine crystals.

Plagioclase as recorder of magma chamber processes in the Deccan Traps: Sr-isotope zoning and implications for Deccan eruptive event

open access: yes, 2014
Deccan Trap flood basalt volcanism reached its peak 65.5(±1)millionyears ago, giving rise to a 2.7km thick lava pile that formed the Western Ghats range near Mumbai.

The Material Basis of 18th‐Century Meissen Porcelain

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 5, Page 908-918, October 2026.
ABSTRACT In the summer of 1708, the quest for making hard‐paste porcelain from Saxonian clay and other mineral resources succeeded. This was achieved by applying as its essential ingredient newly discovered pure kaolin from Heidelsberg near Aue, western Saxon Ore Mountains.

Mineral Carbonation of Mixed Industrial Residues for Enhanced CO2 Sequestration and Environmental Stabilization: The Role of Slag Composition and Industrial Symbiosis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Accelerated CO2 carbonation transforms mixed industrial by‐products, including bottom ash (BA), fly ash (FA), and steel slags, into a value‐added material. The carbonated residue is used as a filler for HDPE composites, promoting both carbon sequestration and circular resource utilization.

Plagioclase Zoning and Sr Isotopes Constrain Mush–Magma Mixing in the Late Triassic Xiuyan Granitic Pluton, East China

open access: yesGeosciences
Mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) are widespread in granitic plutons and provide valuable insights into mush–magma mixing processes in crustal magma reservoirs.

Geochemical and Geological Investigation of Skarn‐Type Pb–Zn Mineralization in Hastanetepe (Balya‐Balıkesir, Türkiye): An Approach Based on Fluid Inclusions, Sulphur Isotopes and Geochemical Data

open access: yesGeological Journal, Volume 61, Issue 9, Page 2940-2957, September 2026.
Integrated petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical data from the Hastanetepe Pb–Zn deposit (Balya, Türkiye) reveal multi‐stage hydrothermal alteration and a magmatic sulphur source. Fluid inclusion and sulphur isotope results indicate a complex fluid evolution responsible for skarn‐type Pb–Zn mineralization along limestone–dacite contacts ...

Composition and Provenance of Victoria Group Sandstones in Southern North Victoria Land, Antarctica

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 3, September 2026.
Three distinct source areas contributed to sandstones of the Victoria Group within the Transantarctic Basin in southern North Victoria Land. During the Permian, quartzose sandstones were derived from erosion of the local Ross Orogen, likely from an uplifted swell in the area of today's Ross Sea, the Ross High.

Geochronological Constraints on Diachronous Post‐Collisional Slab Breakoff Along the Paleo‐Tethyan Sutures

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract The slab breakoff model is a preferred geodynamic interpretation for post‐collisional exhumation and associated magmatic flare‐ups. In this study, rutile U–Pb dating of retrograde eclogites revealed distinct stages of exhumation along the Paleo‐Tethyan sutures in southwest China. The studied samples yielded ages of 246.7 ± 8.5 and 239.7 ± 14.0

The Role of Chlorate‐Driven Oxidative Weathering in Shaping Clay Deposits on Mars

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Oxidized clays and the widespread Al/Si‐over‐Fe/Mg stratigraphy on Mars imply prolonged water‐rock interactions and efficient oxidative weathering despite the largely anoxic conditions of Early Mars when most deposits formed during the climate optimum.

Deep Crustal Magma‐Water Interaction During Oceanic Core Complex Termination of the Godzilla Megamullion in the Parece Vela Basin

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Oceanic Core Complexes (OCCs) in back‐arc basins are not as thoroughly investigated, and their termination processes remain poorly understood. The Godzilla Megamullion is the largest known ceased OCC on Earth, yet magmatic and hydrothermal records from its termination are lacking.
