Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

Refolding planar polygons [PDF]
This paper describes an algorithm for generating a guaranteed intersection-free interpolation sequence between any pair of compatible polygons. Our algorithm builds on prior results from linkage unfolding, and if desired it can ensure that every edge length changes monotonically over the course of the interpolation sequence. The computational machinery

THE ROLE OF Tc-99m MIBI SPECT IN THE EVALUATION OF NON-SMALL CELL LUNG TUMORS
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the role of Tc-99m MIBI scintigraphy in the diagnosis and evaluation of non-small cell lung cancers and also to evaluate the use of MIBI scintigraphy and MDP bone scintigraphy together in the ...

Last Car Decomposition of Planar Maps [PDF]
We give new equations which characterize the generating functions of planar quadrangulations and planar triangulations, with zero, one or two boundaries. The proof is inspired by the Lackner--Panholzer last car decomposition of parking trees (arXiv:1504.04972) and consists in applying a similar decomposition to the peeling trees of planar maps.

α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

On the Genus of the Idempotent Graph of a Finite Commutative Ring
Let R be a finite commutative ring with identity. The idempotent graph of R is the simple undirected graph I(R) with vertex set, the set of all nontrivial idempotents of R and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy = 0.

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

AbstractQuorum systems are used to implement many coordination problems in distributed systems such as mutual exclusion, data replication, distributed consensus, and commit protocols. This paper presents a new class of quorum systems based on connected regions in planar graphs.

Applying the Czédli-Schmidt Sequences to Congruence Properties of Planar Semimodular Lattices
Following Grätzer and Knapp, 2009, a planar semimodular lattice L is rectangular, if the left boundary chain has exactly one doubly-irreducible element, cl, and the right boundary chain has exactly one doubly-irreducible element, cr, and these elements ...
