The Existence of Planar Hypotraceable Oriented Graphs [PDF]
A digraph is \emph{traceable} if it has a path that visits every vertex. A digraph $D$ is \emph{hypotraceable} if $D$ is not traceable but $D-v$ is traceable for every vertex $v\in V(D)$.

Untangling a Planar Graph [PDF]
A straight-line drawing $ $ of a planar graph $G$ need not be plane, but can be made so by \emph{untangling} it, that is, by moving some of the vertices of $G$. Let shift$(G, )$ denote the minimum number of vertices that need to be moved to untangle $ $. We show that shift$(G, )$ is NP-hard to compute and to approximate. Our hardness results extend

The Continuum Between Hexagonal Planar and Trigonal Planar Geometries
New heterometallic hydride complexes that involve the addition of {Mg–H} and {Zn–H} bonds to group 10 transition metals (Pd, Pt) are reported. The side-on coordination of a single {Mg–H} to Pd forms a well-defined σ-complex. In contrast, addition of three {Mg–H} or {Zn–H} bonds to Pd or Pt results in the formation of planar complexes with subtly ...

Systematic profiling of cancer‐fibroblast interactions reveals drug combinations in ovarian cancer
Fibroblasts, cells in the tumor environment, support ovarian cancer cell growth and alter morphology and drug response. We used fibroblast and cancer cell co‐culture models to test 528 drugs and discovered new drugs for combination treatment. We showed that adding Vorinostat or Birinapant to standard chemotherapy may improve drug response, suggesting ...

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE THERMO-CONVECTIVE BEHAVIOR OF A TURBULENT FLOW IN A RECTANGULAR DUCT IN THE PRESENCE OF THREE PLANAR BAFFLES AND/OR CORRUGATED (WAVED) [PDF]
This study numerically examines the behaviour of a two-dimensional turbulent flow of air in a rectangular pipe with three flat or corrugated baffles. A realizable k-ε turbulence model is used and the conservation equations are solved by the finite volume

Planar Shielded-Loop Resonators
The design and analysis of planar shielded-loop resonators for use in wireless non-radiative power transfer systems is presented. The difficulties associated with coaxial shielded-loop resonators for wireless power transfer are discussed and planar ...

AbstractA set S of vertices in a digraph D=(V,A) is a kernel if S is independent and every vertex in V-S has an out-neighbor in S. We show that there exist O(n219.1k+n4)-time and O(k36+219.1kk9+n2)-time algorithms for checking whether a planar digraph D of order n has a kernel with at most k vertices.

The contrast transfer function (CTF) is an imaging aberration that is a major resolution‐limiting factor in cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Precise CTF estimation is key to overcoming this limitation, but is particularly challenging in cryo‐electron tomography (cryo‐ET) data. Here, we present an approach for using geometric information to assist in
